Welcome to TEDxIEMadrid 2023!
This year's theme is all about Connecting the Dots. Our world is complex and multifaceted, and it often takes a unique perspective to see how different pieces fit together. The ability to connect the dots, to find patterns and insights across seemingly unrelated domains, is a valuable skill that can lead to breakthrough ideas and solutions.

At this TEDx event, we will explore the theme of connecting the dots and showcase stories of individuals who have made unexpected connections and discoveries. We are looking for speakers who can share their personal experiences and insights that illustrate the power of connecting the dots. We welcome stories from various sectors, such as technology, art, science, business, and social impact.

Claudia Warias

Claudia Warias, is a rising voice and speaker who inspires people to overcome self-doubt and embrace the feeling of being stuck. She is a certified mindset coach, emotional intelligence consultant, breathwork instructor, and neuro-linguistic programming practitioner with over eight years of experience in the corporate world. She has managed global teams and lived in six different countries across four continents before becoming a successful business owner. Claudia is also the host of The Claudia Warias podcast and has spoken on stages in Las Vegas and London. Her inspiring story is featured in the Business Spotlight magazine.

Harvey Seifter

Harvey Seifter is one of the world’s leading experts in organizational creativity, future-ready leadership and arts-based learning. In 2010, Harvey founded The Art of Science Learning (AOSL), a National Science Foundation-funded research center that uses the arts to spark innovation in science, technology, engineering and education. AOSL’s groundbreaking experiments have established a direct causal link between arts-based learning and enhanced creative thinking, collaboration, and innovation outcomes in many fields. Since 2012, Harvey has taught collaboration and innovation to thousands of business leaders at General Electric’s Crotonville Global Leadership Development Center. In 2019, he established Creating Futures that Work to develop future ready leaders and organizations through arts-based experiential learning. In 2022, their CFTW Leadership and Innovation Skill Assessment® received the prestigious Company of the Year Award from Manage HR. With a background in classical music and theater, Harvey has led several distinguished arts organizations that are renowned for innovative programming through partnerships with global institutions, including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Magic Theatre of San Francisco. During his years at the helm, these organizations won 5 Grammy Awards and the Kennedy Center Award. Harvey's influential book, "Leadership Ensemble: Lessons in Collaborative Management from the World's Only Conductorless Orchestra," was published by MacMillan/Holt and has been translated into seven languages. A Fellow of the Royal Society for Art since 2005, Harvey has shared his expertise as a speaker at conferences all over the world and as a panelist for the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. Harvey's contributions lie at the intersection of creativity, leadership, and innovation.

Romie Carillo

Romie is the Head of Operations at Yoloop. With a passion for EdTech, Remote Work, and Marketplace, she also founded Portfolink on the side. With years of tenure in Remote Work, she has fearlessly embraced a multitude of remote roles - from virtual assistant to online SEO writer to outbound call specialist and many more. Prior to her current role, Romie excelled as an Operations and Training Specialist at a ground-breaking startup based in Silicon Valley, leading the charge in Operational Revolution in the US.

Wanjiku Thiong’o

Wanjiku is an incoming third year student at IE University from Nairobi Kenya, studying Philosophy, Politics, Law, and Economics (PPLE). Wanjiku has a keen interest in social impact and research work within the public sector. As an avid reader and student writer, Wanjiku is especially passionate about African literature and how this intersects with the Afro-feminist movement. As a self-identifying Afro-feminist, Wanjiku has devoted most of her efforts towards researching, writing, and speaking on matters affecting African women economically, socially, and politically. third-year

Winston Reid

Winston is from Chicago, USA, yet has spent the last seven years in North, West and East Africa in roles ranging from venture capital investor in startups to manager of product teams including at Nigerian payments giant Paystack. He is currently the CEO of a software technology company called Alvin which is serving African banks

Yelyzaveta Pidopryhora

Yelyzaveta, also known as Lisa, is a passionate advocate for social innovation and positive change. With over 4 years of experience, she has led international and humanitarian organizations, employing design thinking and effective team-building to drive impactful outcomes. At just 19, Lisa became the president of an international NGO while pursuing an international economy degree. She also served as the head of the student parliament in the international development department. In 2020, she co-founded Ukraine's first podcast on integrity, gaining international recognition. Following her return from an academic exchange in London, Lisa established the "Kyiv Humanitarian Center" to provide aid in response to the outbreak of war in Ukraine. In May 2022, she launched P.work, a Kyiv-based social enterprise fostering connection and personal growth. Currently, Lisa is the head of the "Kyiv Humanitarian Center" and mentors Ukrainian startups while pursuing a Master's degree in customer experience and innovation at IE Business School as a Ukrainian Global University scholar. Her focus is on creating meaningful social impact.
