In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amarachi Nwuneli

Activist
Amarachi C. Nwuneli is a 15-year-old Nigerian-American activist, social innovator, actor, and author. She founded and runs Fight Global Warming Nigeria which is an organization and social movement that works to raise awareness about climate change through interactive workshops, informational videos, and local initiatives. Through her work as a climate activist, she has served as a speaker and youth representative in the British Council Climate Stakeholding and has written several articles about climate change published in national newspapers. In addition, she constantly works to address inequality, corruption, and discrimination by leading Beach Clean-ups, raising funding for communities affected by climate change, running shoe and book drives for government schools, and exposing herself to volunteer work. In December 2022, she published her first poetry book, For We Are Curious.

Ellen Chidebem-Oba

Student
Ellen is a well-behaved, responsible, and smart girl. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic landed her a spot in her school, Meadow Hall's Honour Roll. She is always ready to participate in school programs and events, including Hope Alive which is a charity event. Ellen aspires to be a paediatrician and a children's therapist. She loves making an impact on people's lives and would like to build a career as a motivational speaker. She also demonstrates commendable skills in reading, writing, and singing.

Jadesola Okunubi

Jadesola has an ebullient personality. She is well-behaved, focused, motivated, diligent and ingenious. She is admired and respected not just by students but also members of staff. Due to her resilience, she has earned a couple of awards as one of the top students at Day Waterman College where she serves as Head Girl. Jadesola possesses a positive work ethic with outstanding organisational and multitasking skills. She uses her problem-solving skills optimally. She consistently rises to academic challenges and takes responsibility for her own progress.

Leonidas Liakouris

Leo is a charming teenager who attends Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School. Leo was born and raised in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing and watching football and basketball.

Mofayowa Okuyemi

Mofayowa, popularly known as Fayo, is an 11-year-old, Year 7 student of The Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School, in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria. She is a member of the Student Council of the School and is currently the Class Representative of Year 7A. Fayo is fluent in French, English and Mandarin, and she is learning to speak Yoruba. She has interests in visual arts, environmental design and architecture. She is hardworking, ever ready to learn, loves reading and spending a lot of time in the library - as much as she is allowed to. Fayo likes sharing her thoughts on innovative ideas and on how to make her immediate environment a better place.

Nikita Mani

Nikita Mani is a Year 9 student who is friendly, empathetic and a great team player. Nikita loves music and plays the guitar beautifully. In her spare time, she also enjoys swimming and playing tennis. She has been playing tennis for the last 5 years. Nikita is an avid reader and particularly enjoys mystery, adventure and psychological thrillers.

Ohikowoicho Dan-Ugo

'Ohi', as she is fondly called, is a Year 8 student of Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School in Lagos Nigeria. She is empathetic and has great communication skills. In her free time, you will find Ohi reading, writing, travelling, listening to music and cooking. She also likes spending time with her family and friends. Ohi dislikes dishonesty and pettiness. Her one weakness is procrastination and she seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of procrastination, to help others overcome it. Ohi dreams of being a First-Class graduate of Harvard University, a successful business person and a philanthropist.

Oluwatobi Adepoju

Tobi is a bold and smart 10-year-old who makes friends easily. He is passionate about science and learning through discovery. He loves a good challenge and even though he needs a little push to get started sometimes, he gets the job done. Tobi started his academic journey at St Joseph International School Kuala Lumpur Malaysia before joining the British School of Paris in France. He relocated to Lagos where he completed his primary education at Greensprings School and is looking forward to starting secondary school at Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School in September. Tobi enjoys researching and when he is not researching, he can be found taking tennis lessons, playing video games and watching Netflix.
