奈良時代に築かれた大輪田泊に始まり、中世以降は交易の拠点として発展し、幕末には開港場となり、今日に至る「みなとまち」神戸。
この海と陸の結節点に位置する地で、これまでに多くの人や物・お金・情報が行き来し、独自の文化が育まれ、広がって来ました。

そんな「みなと」に縁のある我々は、改めてこの言葉の意味を受け止め、これからの活動に生かしていくべきだと考えています。

「みなと」は「水の門」と書き、「通路」や「集まる場」を意味しています。また、古くは港湾施設のうち水上部分を「港」、陸上部分を「湊」と呼びました。

その神戸の地で活動する我々は、果たして「みなと」としての役割を果たせているでしょうか?

TEDxKobe 2023は、2014年に初開催したTEDxSannomiyaのテーマ「Ideaport」から今日までの歩みを振り返り、改めて今年のテーマを「湊 / みなと」とします。そして、多様な方々に集まっていただき、価値あるアイデアを広げていただける場を共に創り上げていきます。

Jugemu RAKUTEI

Rakugo Educator
RAKUTEI Jugemu, the representative director of the general incorporated association "Laughter," is also known by her real name, OBATA Nanami. Rather than simply teaching the art of Rakugo, she operates as an educator who draws out the participants' individuality through Rakugo. By using individuality as a weapon to make people laugh, she nurtures the power of self-love. She expands the concept of "laughter education," focusing on creating "laughter that is liked by others." Combining her experience as the winner of the All Japan Student Rakugo Championship with her background as an elementary school teacher, she has independently developed Rakugo teaching materials. She conducts off-site classes at schools and corporate training sessions, providing Rakugo lessons to over 4500 people in more than 50 events annually over a period of three years.

Kazunori IKEDA

Mover to Remote Islands
Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1987, the individual ventured into entrepreneurship while pursuing a master's degree at the Graduate School of Agricultural Science at Kobe University. They founded "Islandex Co., Ltd.", an enterprise that operates unique moving services exclusively for remote islands, such as the "Remote Island Moving Service." Since then, the company has been providing products to facilitate island living. To incorporate the island lifestyle into the company culture, efforts have been made to disperse operations and employment across seven remote islands. Embracing a worldview centered around "Remote Island First," the business has expanded its operations, contributing to over 20,000 people moving to remote islands and engaging in logistics over the years. 1987年愛媛県出身。神戸大学大学院 農学研究科 修士課程中に起業。日本で唯一離島しかやらない引越し屋さん「離島引越し便」などを運営する「アイランデクス 株式会社」を創業。以降、しま暮らしを叶えるプロダクツを提供中。しまの価値観を会社カルチャーに生かすために、現在7つの離島に分散して営業所と雇用を生む など、離島ファーストの世界観で事業を展開し、これまで累計2万人以上の離島移住と物流に関わる。

Kiichi OYAMADA

Dance School Instructor
Instructor of "ONE TRIBE" dance school for people with disabilities With "break dance" and "SALSA," he has experienced and enjoyed the joy of connecting with people of all ages and nationalities through dancing together. Twelve years ago, he met dancers with Down syndrome and was fascinated by their expressiveness and potential. He loves the feeling of mixing people together and creating a "live feeling that can only be felt in that moment" with everyone in the venue. He is doing his best every day to create a space that everyone can enjoy regardless of disability. 障害のある方を対象としたダンススクール『ONE TRIBE』インストラクター。「Break dance」と「SALSA」をきっかけに、一緒に踊ることで年齢や国籍を超えて様々な人と繋がる経験と楽しさを実感してきた。12年前ダウン症のあるダンサー達と出会い、彼らの表現力と可能性に魅せられ、彼らと共に踊る中で様々な気づきを得て、2019年に『ONE TRIBE』を立ち上げる。人と人が混ざり合い、会場にいる全員で『その瞬間にしか感じられないライブ感』を作り上げる感覚が好きでたまらない。障害の有無にとらわれず誰もが楽しめる空間作りに日々全力で取り組んでいる。

KOYUKI

Fingerstyle Guitarist
Learning piano from six to twelve, she started playing guitar at ten and was interested in country music, often heard at Tokyo Disney Land in her childhood. At eleven, she first experienced a live guitar performance by Tommy Emmanuel, the "God of Acoustic Guitar." Shocked and impressed by his fantastic stage performance, she dreamed of being a guitarist. She participated in a fingerpicking competition just ten months after she started playing guitar. After that, she participated in various competitions and won prizes at the youngest age in history. Domestic and overseas artists highly evaluate her unique composition method and worldview, using both guitar and piano. Her YouTube channel, which she started in 2015, now exceeds 4 million views. KOYUKI has many fans overseas as well as in Japan.

Takahiro KITANO

Career Break Reseacher
Born in 1989. KITANO Takahiro is a researcher about "isolation." When you hear researching about isolation, you may think of rescuing someone from pain or resolving social problems. But his research is slightly different. He is focusing on the possibilities of our creative isolation. Through the theme of "Career Break," which means having plenty of free time when temporarily unemployed, KITANO researches the possibilities of isolation and the rhythm of life. KITANO is the representative director of "Career Break Lab," which publishes the monthly information magazine "Monthly Unemployed (Gekkan Mushoku)," organizes a place for the unemployed called "Unemployed University (Mushoku Daigaku)," and runs a hotel called "Okayu Hotel" for the people want to stop in their lives. His favorite word is "Twist and Turns (Uyo-Kyokusetsu)."

Takashi ODA

Artist
"Born in Taiwan and raised in the Netherlands, ODA Takashi serves as the Innovation Specialist for the city of Kobe, a high school art exploration instructor at Kwansei Gakuin High School, and a connector. Engaged in various creative activities, including creating, selling, and performing art. In the latter half of 2017, he became a consultation and event coordinator at Startup Cafe Osaka, a facility supporting entrepreneurial ventures. They also played a role in launching T-KIDS, a shared school for children's extracurricular activities, and served as the school principal. In 2021, they assumed the position of Innovation Specialist for the city of Kobe. Encountering people with diverse lifestyles, he aims to visualize and support communities in the city, striving to create a place where people can be appropriately matched with opportunities. Additionally, they regularly serve as an art exploration instructor for high and elementary school students."

Tokika OKUGAWA

Forester Connecting Forests and People
After studying business at Doshisha University, the individual went on to establish "Somanobase", having previously worked with organizations such as Borderless Japan, a disaster prevention non-profit organization, and Nakagawa Corporation engaged in afforestation. Serving as the representative director of Somanobase, the person cultivates afforestation seedlings at home and introduced a new type of participatory foliage plant called "MODRINAE." The innovative plant garnered recognition, receiving awards such as the Wood Change Award and the Wood Design Award. Subsequently, an e-commerce site was launched. The entrepreneur not only announced MODRINAE for individual consumers but also initiated sales to businesses. Approximately 2000 seedlings have been cultivated nationwide within one year of introducing the product.

Yasunobu HOTSUKI

LX Designer
Head of "TANQ GAKUSHA." From early childhood, he got a unique and unorthodox education from his father, whose motto is "A child will start learning by himself if his inquiring mind is on fire." After dropping out of high school, he studied by himself and entered Kyoto University. His younger two brothers followed the same path, too. So, the three brothers were called "Kyodai 3 kyodai (Kyoto University 3 brothers)" as his father's favorite gag. He appeared in a television program, "Jounetsu Taikriku," in 2019. He also mounted on the TEDxOgikubo stage in 2021. His lesson to "sow seeds of surprise and excitement" fascinates all parents and children worldwide. 探究学舎代表。幼少期から「探究心に火がつけば子どもは自ら学び始める」がモットーの型破りなオヤジの教育を受ける。高校を中退し京大に進学。次男、三男も続き、リアルオヤジギャグ「京大三兄弟」となる。 '19年「情熱大陸」に出演、’21年「TEDxOgikubo」に登壇。 「驚きと感動の種をまく」興味開発型の授業は、世界中の親子を魅了する。5児の父。
