In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alex Budak

UC Berkeley Faculty Member and Author
Alex Budak is a faculty member at UC Berkeley, co-founder of StartSomeGood, and the author of Becoming a Changemaker. He teaches, speaks and writes to make leadership more attainable, change more positive, and impact more inclusive. At UC Berkeley, Budak created and teaches his transformational changemaker curriculum to undergraduates, graduates and executives, and directs the Berkeley Haas Global Access Program. A social entrepreneur at heart, he co-founded StartSomeGood, which has helped more than 1,200 changemakers in 50 countries raise millions of dollars to launch and scale new change initiatives. His book, Becoming a Changemaker, has been endorsed by Nobel Prize winners, Olympic athletes, and most meaningfully of all – by his former students who are using these ideas to change the world.

Anna Duberg

Physiotherapist and Researcher
Anna Duberg is a physiotherapist and researcher in Health Sciences at Örebro University, Sweden. Currently, she combines her work as a research supervisor and innovation coach with her own innovation “dance for health”: a dance initiative she developed to improve youth mental health and reduce stress through dancing. Today, this method is widely implemented across Sweden as a cost-effective complement to school health care and has touched the lives of thousands of young people.

Doug Lansky

Tourism Expert
Doug Lansky is a globally recognized keynote speaker and thought-leader in tourism. He is the author of 10 books, including 2 for Lonely Planet and 3 for Rough Guides, had a weekly syndicated travel column in over 40 newspapers for five years, hosted a Travel Channel show, served as a correspondent for Public Radio’s Savvy Traveler show, served as travel editor for Scandinavian Airlines inflight magazine for three years and contributed to publications such as National Geographic Traveler, Reader’s Digest, Esquire, Men’s Journal, The Guardian, National Geographic Adventure, Huffington Post and Skift. On the speaking circuit, Doug has given acclaimed lectures at nearly 100 universities, spoken to a sold-out audience at National Geographic Headquarters, for the United Nations World’s Tourism Organization,and set the attendance record for keynote lectures at the 2012 and 2013 ITB Berlin conferences.

Oscar Sedholm

Sámi Indigenous Behavioral Scientist
Oscar Sedholm is a southern Sámi indigenous behavioral scientist. Oscar has spent the last fifteen years trying to understand why his family’s history and identity were shamed into silence. An avid writer and debater, he has explored themes of colonization, revitalization, identity, power dynamics, resource politics, and culture in Sweden. For eight years, he was a representative in the Swedish Sámi Parliament and also served as party secretary for the Hunting- & Fishing Sámi Party. He is also an author, musician, hobbyist photographer, and filmmaker. He currently resides in Umeå, where he works as a communications officer.

William Paaso

Pianist and Composer
William Paaso is a 22 year old musician and composer from Boden living in Stockholm. He studied classical piano throughout his education, but has been focusing on composing in recent years. William mostly enjoys writing for smaller chamber ensembles, and solo works, especially for the church organ.

Wilma Emanuelsson

Cybersecurity specialist and Entrepreneur
Wilma is now a 19-year-old offensive cybersecurity specialist, entrepreneur, and speaker. She recently founded the deep-tech startup iTrack Reading, which is developing software that uses eye-tracking technology and machine learning to help people with dyslexia read fluently, make language learning more effective and automated, as well as increase focus for those with ADHD. With her childhood dream in mind, she continued working in the field of hacking, eventually becoming a hacktivist, tracking and taking down harmful and illegal sites engaged in human trafficking. She knew that she wanted to continue using her skills to help others and eventually started performing freelance ethical hacking.
