In all respects, Oyo town - like any other local community - has always been found at the ebb of global standards. It continually strives to be on par or some levels close to other thriving communities. On most occasions, it has been described as "invisible" on the global scale. Consequently, everyone is either getting in low spirits or losing all hope in Oyo town.

But for how long? How long do we continue to wait for things to turn around for our dear town? How long do we wait for that one "big" idea that will come like a flicker of light and bring the solution that we seek? How long do we wait before we start to see the desired changes in Oyo town? Undoubtedly, we can not afford to wait any longer. It is high time we took a step.

In a bid to bring the global TED experience that thriving communities are harnessing to Oyo town, we present TEDxAllianceWay. In line with TED's mission, TEDxAllianceWay is an event that seeks to bring valuable speakers from the community and from different walks of life to share insightful ideas that will transcend into actions and the genesis of tremendous changes in Oyo town.

The event aims to place Oyo town on the pedestal of communities that experience rapid development in all aspects. All this time, we have been in the beholders' zone, where we have just been staring and wondering about the state of Oyo town. It is high time we moved to the realm of painters - where we play the role of change-makers. Hence, the birth of a platform like TEDxAllianceWay.
