In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aarthi Ravikumar

Aarthi Ravikumar is an eighth grader at FSA. She has been drawing for almost her entire life, from the ages of 3 to 14. In addition, she love tea and everything space related as well as hanging out with her friends. She is funny, driven, and a little bit of a procrastinator.

Alana Daniel

Alana/Mars Daniel is an eighth grade student at Farmington STEAM Academy who is dedicated to social justice and helping their community. Alana spends the majority of their free time playing their instruments (guitar and clarinet), listening to R&B music, studying astrology and when they can, spending time with friends.

Alexandria Thomas

Alexandria Thomas teaches English Language Arts and US History in Farmington Hills, and will soon be starting her master program in curriculum development. She loves playing video games, watching movies, and hanging out with her cat, Rudi, in her free time. Her experiences in an interracial relationship and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community has taught her the value of active allyship. She believes the internal and external challenges she has faced have driven her to be a better ally to her loved ones, students, and fellow humans.

David Edwards

David Edwards is the owner of The Developing Young Athletes Network, a development and sports performance company, Coach for FSA, lifelong fitness enthusiast, and avid cyclist. David believes that sports build characteristics that help you win in life. Since the age of eight, he has been passionate about sports. Playing organized football, basketball, and track in elementary school and continuing his journey as a collegiate athlete. As a coach, he believes in developing the entire young athlete on and off the field. He created a podcast to reach parents, athletes, and coaches globally through his Developing Young Athletes Network podcast. His goal is to motivate, educate and inspire the champion within every young athlete. His love for sports was also passed down to his two daughters, who are also coaches at FSA. He loves traveling with his wife and daughters, reading, and learning about personal development.

Jon Thomas

Jon Thomas is a dental technician, loving husband and father, and small business owner. In his spare time, he is a war historian and collector. After the loss of his daughter, Lauren, Jon was driven to share her story unfiltered- so that no one has to experience the pain of losing a child to addiction.

Nicolette Franck

Nicolette Franck is a project manager at Michigan Medicine and an avid athlete. She is the mother of three lovely girls and any free time she can find, she spends outdoors. Her daughter describes her as someone who “always has something going on,” because she doesn’t like to be inactive.

Niha Prabhu

Niha Prabhu is an 8th grade student at Farmington STEAM Academy. She serves as the Student Council President, Founder/President of the FSA Pre-Med Club, WEB Leader, and is an aspiring Medical Professional. Niha is dedicated to self improvement and helping the school community. She loves to let loose with some sp]orts, self-help book reading, violin jamming, and eating chicken nuggets. When it comes down to it, though, hanging with her family and her squad is where it's at.

Sandra Zori

Sandra Zori is now 40 years old. In that time she has gotten married, graduated from pharmacy school, birthed two daughters, adopted two dogs, and is now finishing up a master's degree in biomedical engineering. Things that Sandra has continued to enjoy over the last 40 years include being outdoors in the summer, reading dystopian stories, having big hair, and eating French fries. Sandra hopes to live another fun and fantastic 40 years, but not much longer than that. Sandra really hopes you enjoy morbid humor.

Sonja Brannon

Sonja Brannon is a survivor. Initially getting sick at the age of 12, she has spent her life defying the odds. Once told that she’d neither live to be 30, nor ever be able to maintain a pregnancy, Sonja is a proud 49 year old with four amazing daughters. She and her husband of 25 years are thankful for every single day, even more so after the events of 2020.
