Manchester, Manchester
United Kingdom

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Suaad Mohamoud

My name is Suaad Jama Mohamoud. I am a student, poet, and small business owner. One of my greatest passions in life is writing and relating to people through words. Through my poetry page, I’ve been able to connect with hundreds of people, often writing about themes such as: pain, grief, suffering, hope, resilience, and many more of the experiences that we go through in life. I’ve received countless messages saying, ‘Thank you for putting into words, how we feel, for giving us anchorage, and for making us feel that bit less lonely.’ Not only is poetry the medium, by which I connect to the world. It is also the legacy that I will leave behind, so that long after I am gone, my words still resonate with people’s hearts and gives them much needed hope.
