ゆらぐ(Yuragu) means fluctuating in Japanese.
Leaning, surging, mingling, changing. People, TEDx, and The University of Tokyo fluctuate through ideas. The fluctuation may indeed be small. But it will surely amplify, change its form, and spread throughout the world. We hope that the new order that emerges from the fluctuation will change "today", if only a little.

Sociologist, Professor, Faculty of Human Sociology, University of Ryutsu Keizai

D. in Literature from the Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto University. She started surfing in the 1990s, and since then surfing has been both a lifestyle and a research topic. She is the author of “Just Surf: An Ethnography of Surfers” (Koyo Shobo). She has used ethnographic methods to document the gender dynamics constituted by everyday interactions. 京都大学大学院文学研究科。博士（文学）。1990年代にサーフィンをはじめ、以来サーフィンはライフスタイルでもあり、研究テーマでもあり続ける。著書に『ただ波に乗る Just Surf－サーファーのエスノグラフィー』（晃洋書房）。日常的な相互作用によって構成されるジェンダー・ダイナミクスを、エスノグラフィーの方法で記録してきた。

After working as a Project Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics and as an Assistant Professor at the Seikei University Faculty of Science and Technology, he assumed his current position.
