In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amruta Turlapati

Student
Amruta Turlapati is a senior at Moreau Catholic, who is very passionate about music, math, chemistry, and expressing her creativity. She has grown up experiencing the beautiful intersection between music and her Indian heritage. Her upbringing has fostered her vision around tapping into the potential of the creative arts, and as a result, she is extremely passionate about leveraging her creative abilities to facilitate change around the world. In the future, she plans on continuing her musical journey alongside her endeavors in advocating for social justice issues all around the globe.

Anjanae Henry

Anjanae Henry is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School. She has been an active member of the Moreau community, through her positions on student government, link crew, student senator, and ambassador. Anjanae is also a student athlete, having participated in varsity lacrosse for all four years of high school and rally squad for two years. Anjanae is imaginative, lively, and driven by her desire to raise awareness about the dangers of social comparison. She hopes to pursue her passion in college and beyond by majoring in biomedical engineering, which will allow her to further investigate the neurological side of comparison.

Aryan Mohindra

Aryan Mohindra is a senior at Moreau Catholic; he is passionate about studying business management in college and pursuing entrepreneurship beyond graduation. In the last two years, he participated in a real estate venture, as Project coordinator and Partner of Wilbur LLC, where he and his team undertook developing land for mental health patients of Hume center. This endeavor strengthened his purpose in life: creating value with a social impact.

Aymani Bouyer

Aymani Bouyer is very active in her communities she participate in some sports here at Moreau like our Basketball team, She started her freshmen year on Jv then was moved up to play varsity and has been on the team since, she also plays Lacrosse she started playing her junior year on varsity as well. Aymani is the co president of BSU (Black Student Union) and have been an active member all four years. Participating in rally, like choreographing dances, presenting speeches etc. Aymani is also in Social Justice Leadership, she is one of the three members who facilitate the Speak Out podcast.

Delilah Sanchez

Delilah Sanchez is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School. She has been an active member of the Moreau community, through being a part of the student senate, President of the Art Club, and an Officer for Anime club. Delilah is also a student-athlete, having participated in varsity tennis, and soccer, and in her freshman year, she was a part of the JV water polo team. She is captain of the badminton team and is known for her style, leadership, compassion, and capability to get things done. In college, she hopes to pursue Veterinary Medicine and use her drive to help animals.

Divisha Khanna

Divisha is a senior in Moreau Catholic High School. She is part of Social Justice Leadership, Link Crew and theater. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family and friends and read. When she graduates high school she wants to major in Political Science and go to law school.

Diya Sridhar

Student
Diya Sridhar is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School who is grateful for the opportunities that have enabled her to shape her curious mind, particularly in the areas of finance, accounting, and economics. As a research assistant for two professors in the UC system, she has been able to explore what makes the market move and understand the forces that contribute to the market’s volatility. She is also the founder of a financial economics blog and a money management tutor at Friends of Children with Special Needs, allowing her to inspire young adults with a probing mind to develop a strong understanding of and passion for finance and economics. Diya hopes to major in economics in college and pursue a career in accounting and finance.

Emma Murchison

Emma Murchison is a high school senior born and raised in the Bay Area. She has grown up playing competitive softball and will continue her academic and athletic career in college. She is a member of feminism club, Nuestra Gente, and a Student Curriculum Committee-- all focused on voicing classmates needs. She is also a Varsity softball team captain, CrossFitter, and hiker.

Gabrielle Diroll

Student
Gabrielle Diroll is a mixed Moreau Catholic senior of white and Mexican-American descent focused on inclusion and creating a supportive foundation for others. Among her many interests, she’s a record-breaking athlete on Varsity Swimming, an active member of the Link Crew Executive Council, and the Vice President of Art Club. Influenced by her own struggles with her mixed identity, Gabi co-founded Multi-Heritage Club (MHC) to advocate and provide a safe space for mixed-race students to discuss their experiences and explore their identities.

Gursimran Singh Dhindsa

Student
Gursimran Dhindsa is a graduating high school student. He is a first-generation child of Sikh immigrants, and will be the first person in his family to attain a college degree. Gursimran is currently the President and co-founder of Sikh Honors and Service Society, Vice President of intramural sports, and he actively participates in cultural and volunteering activities in the Fremont Gurudwara. While he does have a passion to learn and excel in academics, Gursimran's also realized that a change needs to be made in the education system.

Hiya Verma

Hiya Verma is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School. She is committed to bringing awareness to mental health. She is vice president of South Asian Student Association focused on educating others about South Asian mental health struggles. Hiya is a part of Link Crew's executive council where she tends to the mental health of freshmen. Hiya plans to continue to be an advocate in college.

Isabella Panganiban

Isabella Panganiban is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School; she has been Class President for the past 4 years and founded the mental health advocacy club. She aspires to pursue a future in the Public Health field in hopes of expanding health care by challenging social determinants such as biased funding. Her passion of ensuring every person has an opportunity to achieve optimal health alongside her upbringing of aiding those in her family struggling with illnesses, especially diabetes, inspired her to raise awareness about the importance of being an advocate for those struggling with both illnesses and the many disparities in health care.

Jessica Grospe is a graduating high school student. Raised in the Bay Area, the environment helped foster much of their curiosity, creativity, and identity. They are heavily involved with their school; as an active member of Student Government, Theater, and Visual Arts, Jess values community and people, which drives them to be a passionate leader.

Jonnae Henry

Jonnae Henry is a graduating high school student, who has a passion for advocating for social justice and change. Currently, she is a part of the varsity soccer team and link crew at Moreau Catholic High School. She is an active member of the feminism club, journalist club, book club, and black student union. Along with that, she has her own poetry account she manages on social media, where she posts her writings and poems. The values Jonnae stands for have allowed her to become an active and empathic leader in her community, her journey of power, change, and social justice is just getting started.

Karina Anthony

Karina Anthony is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School of both Venezuelan and American descent. She is heavily involved in leadership within her school communities and even helped to confound a Multi-Heritage Club. She is also an active participant in the performing arts, dancing, singing, and acting in her free time.

Kat Cava

Katherine Cava is apart of both Varsity Rally Squad and Varsity Lacrosse. She is also a devoted artist and writer. She finds importance in sharing personal stories in any form. In college, she will be studying criminology and psychology, along with a few creative writing courses.

Meghan Freitas

Meghan Freitas is a graduating senior at Moreau Catholic High School; she is passionate about community service and health and well-being. She plans to attend the Saint Edwards University this fall to pursue a degree in Nursing. She has a variety of interests which include–the sports of volleyball and lacrosse, Campus Ministry, volunteering within her community at St. Vincent de Paul and Washington Hospital as well as cultural activities within the Portuguese community. Her hopes are to educate others about work-life balance in the pursuit of health and well-being.

Niki Westerhoff

Niki Westerhoff is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School with a passion for social justice. Growing up in the socially progressive San Francisco Bay Area has allowed them to explore and find their identity. Their curiosity about the way things work has led them to an interest in biotechnology. Niki has a drive to challenge the status quo and explore the possibilities of living a fuller life, whether it be making an advancement in science or by opening someone's mind to new ideas.

Pierce Ran is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School who aspires to pursue an education and career in engineering. Growing up immersed in the cultures of Silicon Valley and the Bay Area, he has found passion in understanding our world on a deeper level. He connects old and new ideas alike to gain insight on the intricacies of the society we live in.

Sophia Araujo

Sophia Araujo is a 17-year-old senior currently attending Moreau Catholic High School. She is a mixed-race individual with multiple backgrounds consisting of Mexican, Guatemalan, African American, and German descent. Feeling underrepresented in her school community she decided to co-found her school's Multi-Heritage Club in hopes of enacting change. Along with this Sophia has taken on many other leadership roles such as becoming a Hayward Youth Commission member, and being a part of her school's Senior Executive Council.

Tabitha Aloo

Tabitha is a senior at Moreau Catholic High School. She loves to be apart of the school community. She has been on the Varsity Basketball team since she was freshman and just last year joined the lacrosse team. She is also apart of social justice leadership and the vice president of the Black student union.

Toni West

Director of Climate and Culture
Toni West is an Assistant Principal of Climate and Culture at Moreau Catholic High School. Her position works with school leaders in creating manageable ways to oversee the physical, emotional and social wellness of students in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion. In addition, Toni creates anti-bias, anti-racist and relational professional development for educators. Toni received her Administrative Credential in Education Leadership in Social Justice from CSU East Bay. Prior to her career in high school education, Toni taught and coached collegiate basketball and obtained her Masters in Kinesiology from St. Mary's College of California. Toni has committed the past five years helping educators within the bay area, and in the Holy Cross community, create inclusive and welcoming learning environments.
