In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmed Waheed

Ahmed W. Waheed has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Queen Mary University of London, UK. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Governance and Public Policy, in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan and is also the Executive Director of Roads Initiative, a knowledge-sharing platform which seeks to advance the study of Social Sciences in Pakistan. He is the author of The Wrong Ally: Pakistan State Sovereignty under US Dependence and Constructing ’Pakistan’ through Knowledge Production in International Relations and Area Studies.

Ali Ilyas

Ali Ilyas is a psychotherapist, trainer and consults in organizational development. In his psychotherapy work he has found great value in an existential approach to working with psychological concerns. He believes in looking for more than psychopathology and disorder and attempts to view the person and their unique challenges in the world that they occupy. His perspective on self-education is to look at any given problem form a cross-disciplinary perspective. In a world of hyper-specialization, he feels it is necessary to form integrative connections to get a fuller image of any social problem.

Rabail Pirzada

Rabail Pirzada is presently working as Chief Coordinator at Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB). After losing her eyesight in an accident, she decided to transform the society more inclusive for visually impaired persons and to change the community attitude towards Disability. Her motto is “Life is Beautiful”. She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of social work for visually impaired community.

Sahar Habib Ghazi

Sahar Habib Ghazi is a journalist, design thinking trainer, and she runs an Instagram community on desi parenting called 2030Mama. Sahar has worked in newsrooms for 18 years. Currently, Sahar is a Senior Editor, Asia Pacific for VICE World News and board member for Media Matters forDemocracy.
