Theme: In a Chaotic World

This event occurred on
April 8, 2023
Hanoi, Ha Noi
Vietnam

We live in a chaotic world where it’s difficult to understand the rules. Because why are some people poor and other people rich? Why do some people have to be refugees, while others are safe? Why are some people spit on the street? And why is it that sometimes, even though you try to do something good, it’s still met with hate? It’s not weird that people give up. That they stop believing in the good. Each and every one of us is a part of the big chaos. And what you do today, has an effect tomorrow. It can be hard to say, exactly what kind of effect. And you usually can’t see how everything fits together. But the effects of your actions, are always there, somewhere in the chaos. We choose this theme because it will give a great chance for speakers to share their inspiring stories in the midst of our chaotic world. Any individual would have different opinions, positive or negative, about our world today, and TEDxConcordiaIntlSchol can be a place for speakers to showcase brilliant ideas. Through this TEDx event, we hope to create a platform for speakers to share their perspectives, thus accomplishing TED's mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.”

Speakers

Speakers may not be confirmed. Check event website for more information.

Gia-Khanh Pham-Bui

Pham Bui Gia Khanh is a 9th grader in British International School (BIS) Hanoi. As a national debate squad member and an aspiring writer, Gia Khanh finds this year’s TEDxConcordiaIntlSchoolHanoi as a perfect opportunity for her to express her innermost reflection on the outside chaotic world. Amidst the world's chaos and pressure, writing, journaling, dancing, sleeping and music becomes the haven she crawls herself in, before she can be a social butterfly who seamlessly holds conversations from one friend to another at school.

Jae Eun Koh

Jae Eun is a sophomore at Concordia Hanoi. She likes to go to the gym, dance, and try out new music. She is inspired by the simple things of her daily life, like a conversation during lunch. She reflects on things she finds interesting which allow her to learn new things. Jae Eun chose to become a speaker because she wanted to give her voice on a topic relevant to the theme “In a Chaotic World”. Through her TEDx speech, Jae Eun hopes to not only inspire and inform the audience but also to deliver an empowering message for all members living as a component of this chaotic society. She also wants to connect with her community and help others who pertain to her topic of speech.

Kim Ngan Pham

Kim Ngan Pham is an eleventh grader studying at Vietnam Poland High School. She enjoys watching YouTube, watching films on Netflix, and listening to music. One of her favorite artists is BTS, and she is inspired by their meaningful messages, such as to value themselves or to live an unregretful life. As a person who is passionate about studying politics and international conflicts, she participates in Model United Nations, which offers her the opportunities to further widen her horizon. As she always adheres to a fascinating life, she decided to apply to be a speaker at TEDxConcordiaIntlSchoolHanoi and step out of her comfort zone. She believes that this opportunity of being a speaker will challenge herself and will give her a chance to interact with new people. She feels beyond honored to be selected as one of the TEDx speakers since this is something that she has always dreamed of. She looks forward to making an indelible memory of her life and delivering a speech that can inspire people, just like other TED-talk speakers who have motivated her.

Nhat Nam Le

Nhat Nam Le is the founder of The Jasmine Guy, an online blog platform where he shares his perspectives on a variety of social issues. At our TEDxConcordiaIntlSchoolHanoi, he will be giving a speech about his own experiences, the journey of him “finding peace in a noisy world”.

Sadhika Kapoor

Sadhika Kapoor is a student currently in her sophomore year of high school at Reigate Grammar School Vietnam. She has been a talkative child since a young age, which would explain her love for public speaking and her experience in several TEDx talks. She enjoys the thrill of being able to deliver her ideas and thoughts to many people, despite the difficulties that come along with it. She loves creative writing, music and considers herself a ‘master procrastinator’. She plans to title her speech: “The beauty of humanity in a world full of chaos: An outside story”. She wishes to convey the fact that even though we are individuals in this complex world, the lives we live are shaped by the people around us and that it takes a collective effort to achieve something great. She hopes for everyone’s wishes of luck for her speech!
