In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abigail Roehrig

Hi! My name is Abi Roehrig, I am 17 and currently a senior at San Dieguito High School Academy, and I believe that love is a very powerful and magical feeling that we all have the opportunity everyday to experience. In my life, love has been described as capturing unknown or new feelings in a moment; like butterflies in the stomach. I have had all different kinds of relationships involving love and if it has taught me anything it's that, Love is more than one word, it’s the actions we take - it's the kind of Love that is high risk, high reward.

Feeling stressed or anxious? You're not alone. A staggering 77% of our population experiences stress and 31% grapples with anxiety. But have you ever stopped to consider the therapeutic impact of music on your mental well-being? Dive into our deep exploration of music's role from a rhythmic synchronization in the womb to its undeniable presence in our day-to-day lives. Learn from TED Talk speakers Alex Dorman and Alan Harvey about the deep physiological and emotional ties we have with music and how it aids in relaxation, concentration, and emotional well-being. Discover the research behind why some frequencies soothe us more than others, and why music holds such a significant place, especially during teenage years. Join me as I share my personal journey with music during the challenging COVID lockdown, highlighting the importance of music as a meditative escape. Whether you're a fan of Mozart, Metallica, or anywhere in between, this video illuminates the universal healing power of music. Sophia Kumar

Hi there! My name is Sophia Kumar and I am so excited about life. I love dances from other cultures and I dream of dancing and performing around the world for at least a few years until I move onto something else cool like being an actor or a politician. I have big and wild dreams and I intend to accomplish them all. I believe this life is a gift for me to unwrap and take every opportunity I can to rule the world and make this world a better place. I believe that humans would all be so much happier if more of us truly held conviction that we could manifest our wildest dreams. If people expressed their opinions and creative solutions more, there would be a multitude of better ideas on how to run a country, fix climate change, cure cancer, end starvation, make friends with everybody, resolve loneliness, etc. That's why I have decided to enable all of you watching this video with a simple and doable routine to manifest your wildest dreams and ideas. Because my conviction is the world would be a lot better of a place if people like you and me gave our dreams a shot.
