In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abudar Alganadi

Professor

He holds a Ph.D. in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He has held several academic positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Taiz University. He is currently a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Taiz University. He is the Director of the Heart Center, Vascular Surgery, Kidney Transplantation, and Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Taiz University.

Adeeb Al-hatemie

Chemical engineer

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry and has published research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has participated in local and international scientific competitions and conferences. He holds a TOEFL certificate from Amidst Institute in Aden and is currently working on furthering his academic scientific education.

Basheer Senan

Sports journalist

A Master's degree researcher in science and sports management, he has been involved in various managerial and field positions in journalism and sports. He has covered nearly 500 local and international championships, including the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He contributed, along with his colleagues, to the founding of the Yemeni Association for Sports Media as the first president of the founding council. He served as the Director of International Relations in the General Secretariat of the Asian Sports Journalism Union and later as an executive director for a full term. Recently, he was selected as a member of the Marketing Committee for the Asian Union, responsible for the Arab region. He was a personal secretary to the President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and currently works as a media advisor in the Qatari Olympic Committee (Sports Media Committee).

Fahd Al-Durafi

Photographic documentary specialist

He worked in the Public Relations, Purchasing, and Employee Affairs departments at the Model Hospital in Taiz, then became the manager of the Rainbow Medical Agency, and finally became the owner and manager of the Basmala Pharma Medical Establishment. He is a researcher and enthusiast in collecting and documenting old photographs of Yemen in general and Taiz in particular.

Hadeel Al-Sharmani

Journalist

She is a student at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration, at Taiz University. Hadeel participated in the Arabic language speaking competition at the Arab University in Egypt and won third place. She has also worked as a volunteer at the Association of the Blind. Hadeel dreams of becoming a journalist and being the voice of the blind around the world to convey their message, and raise awareness about their rights and duties.

Hana'a Al-Rashed

Photographer

A graduate of Information Technology from Cairo University, she has worked in various fields ranging from administrative work to training. She then shifted towards entrepreneurship and specialized in child photography which was a new idea in Taiz.

Hisham Al-noman

Hisham Al-Noman takes us on a nostalgic journey through a heritage painting, capturing the details of a beautiful time in the song "Al-Yawm Sarab" (Today we are harvesting).

Ismail AL-Shameri

Dr

A specialist in cardiac and vascular surgery, he has published four medical research papers as a lead researcher and 14 papers as an assistant researcher. He has spoken at seven internal and external medical conferences and has performed over 2000 vascular surgeries.

Khalil Al-mashwali

Businessman

A businessman currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration, he is engaged in several business activities. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Enjaz International Group in China, specializing in general trade, clothing, mobile accessories, and car decorations. He is also a board member of several joint-stock companies and the President of the Arab Businessmen Forum in China.

Maeen Al-abidi

Lawyer and activist

She is a lawyer and a human rights and community activist. She is a member of the Women's Advisory Team at the United Nations Special Envoy's Office to Yemen (TAG). She founded the Mu'ayin Center for Community Development and has participated in various local organizations and initiatives. She has provided legal assistance to incarcerated and impoverished women and works as a local mediator. She also monitors human rights violations against civilians. She has represented Yemen in several local and international conferences and was selected by the BBC as one of the top 100 influential and inspiring women around the world for the year 2022

Mokhtar Ahmed

Director, National Cancer Control Foundation

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Sharia (Islamic Law) and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Taiz University. He has held several different positions from a young age and has established numerous initiatives in the social, sports, and educational sectors. He served as a member of the local council for two terms and was a member of the Services Committee for the local authority in the Cairo directorate. Mokhtar has been the director of the National Cancer Control Institution in Taiz and its affiliated projects since its establishment in 2007.

Mugeeb Al-harosh

Dr

An associate professor at Moscow Technical University, he graduated with honors and ranked first in the directorate of Maqbanah - Taiz Governorate. Al-Haroush also received the Scientific Excellence Medal for Yemeni students abroad and was recognized as the second-best Arab inventor according to the Stars of Science 2021 in Doha, Qatar.
