In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abhinav Avvaru

Student

Abhinav is a junior at Nashua High School South. He is passionate about TEDx, previously giving a talk at a TEDx event in Chelmsford. He is also passionate about scientific research, and his research won him first place overall in the New Hampshire Science and Engineering Expo (NHSEE) and qualified him as a Regeneron ISEF finalist for two consecutive years. He was also recognized with an honorable mention special award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in ISEF. Abhinav enjoys playing tennis, watching TED talks, and playing piano in his free time. He is an active member of the community as the captain and #1 player of the Nashua South tennis team, the president of the Science and Engineering club, and the vice president of Innovations Club.

Kuhu Jayaswal is a junior at Nashua High School South and recently moved from India. Being new to Nashua, she is passionate about making the best out of her opportunities while becoming a part of the community and socializing with different individuals. She is positively driven, determined, friendly, and is enthusiastic about the new experiences she witnesses. Her aim in life is to become an entrepreneur and actively expand on various ideas.

My name is Raina. I am a high school senior at Nashua High School South. I plan to title my TEDx talk: Why Compassion is the Antidote to Neurodivergent shame. I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 17 after undergoing a neuropsychological evaluation. Because of my diagnosis, I developed an interest in neuropsychology and a passion for disability advocacy. I plan to explore these topics during my undergraduate education. In my remaining time, I enjoy creating concept-based art and practicing music.

Rithika Praturu

My name is Rithika Praturu and I am a junior at Nashua South. I love playing basketball, going to gym, traveling with my family and nature photography. I am a big fan of watching the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team play and am an avid Chelsea supporter. My love for sports and the players is one of the reason I want to highlight the discrepancy between male and female athletes and help bring more awareness to the increased injury in women sports and try to help make a difference. I am a big advocate for the Equal Pay movement and have always found my inspirations through sport.
