Ahsly Gonzalez Ruiz

Student at Yes Prep Northbrook High School

Ahsly is a junior at Yes Prep Northbrook High School. She wishes to major in aerospace engineering at Texas A&M University. Ahsly cares about the environment and has volunteered at a dog shelter in her free time. She attended the ACE Environmental Engineering Summer camp, where she developed the interests in the challenges we face in climate change.

Diego Salgado

Student at Northbrook High School

Diego Salgado is a junior at Northbrook High School. He hopes to take over his families construction business once he finishes college. He plans to major in Business with a minor in psychology. His extracurriculars include Class president, tennis, and a member of One Goal. His talk will be finding a middle ground between egocentric and very low self-esteem. He will use famous philosopher, artists, and entertainers to describe how ego can be implemented in a positive and negative way.

Mahima Gyamlani

Student at Awty International School

Mahima Gyamlani is a junior at Awty International School in Houston, Texas. In her talk, she will share her personal journey of overcoming selective mutism and how her struggles inspired her to help others with their mental well-being. By using cognitive reframing techniques, she was able to transform her adversity into an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children facing a similar sense of isolation by leveraging technology.
