In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amadu Bah

Amadu Bah will graduate from Hope College in 2024 with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. The former President of the Black Student Union at Hope College, Bah's interests stretch from Psychology to deep philosophical concepts.

An Ha

An is a first generation Vietnamese American woman Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Women in Gender Studies. Creatively she is a spoken word artist and storyteller.

Andrea Hernandez

As the first in her family to go to college, Andrea Hernandez, a trailblazing social worker from Dallas, Texas, earned her bachelor's degree from Hope College. She is passionate about empowering underrepresented groups, advocating for equal opportunities, and fostering inclusive communities.

Claire Benedict

Claire Benedict was born and raised in Ada, Michigan and attended Hope College, where she obtained degrees in Chemistry and Spanish. She enjoys traveling to new places, playing piano, and backpacking. Claire will spend a year on a Fulbright grant in Switzerland and then will pursue a PHD in chemistry at the University of Chicago

Elizabeth Bassett, ‘23, studied Communication, Leadership, and Women & Gender Studies at Hope College in Holland, MI. As a student she founded TEDxHopeCollege to bring local innovation and diversity to a global stage and empower student voices. She now serves McKinsey & Company as a consultant.

Isabella Mbabazi Musherure Mbabazi Musherure

Isabella Mbabazi Musherure graduated from Hope College with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. Isabella's passions include mental health advocacy, specifically working with African immigrants and their children to create a healthy family dynamic.

Jack Wallace is a senior electrical engineering student hoping to combine his studies with his passion of renewable energy when he graduates.

Venecia Rodriguez is a 2023 graduate of Hope College with a degree in Social Work. She is entering the field as a Case Aide in transitional foster care for unaccompanied minors. Venecia is strongly motivated by her family to continue to bring into fruition her purpose, which is to serve people.
