In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Boniface Prabhu

Former Indian Paralympian Tennis Player

Shri Boniface Prabhu is a Padma Shri Awardee and an Indian quadriplegic wheelchair tennis player. He is a Paralympian and a Grand Slam wheelchair tennis player. He represented India 81 times till date in six sports and won the country’s first ever medal at the Para World Championship, in 1998, in discuss throw. He was also honoured with the Rajyothsava Award, Karnataka’s second highest civilian honour, in 2003 and Ekalavya award. Shri Boniface’s recognition includes the Chanakya Award in 2022 (sports communicator of the year) by the Public Relations Council of India, ‘Cavinkare Ability Award’, ‘Jidda Puraskar’, ‘Rising Star of the Millenium’, ‘Giant international’ etc. Shri. Boniface is the brand ambassador for Nike and also served as a brand ambassador for Coca-Cola, Allen Solly, RCB, CII and many other companies. Sri. Boniface Prabhu is widely regarded as the “Father of Indian Wheelchair Tennis.”

Started “Hospital at home -Frailty Service, first of its kind in the UK. He relocated back to India and set up “ Age well Clinic “ at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, first of its kind providing comprehensive proactive care for older adults. He is a international M.R.C.P examiner and recipient of national award “ Vayoshresta Saman award” from the Vice President of India . He was Felicitated with “ Helical award” National meritorious award by Union health minister. Dr. Dominic Benjamin is also highly respected among his peers as an author in many journals and textbooks

Dr. Syed Mujtaba Hussain Kirmani

Former Indian Cricketer

Dr. Syed Mujtaba Hussain Kirmani, is a renowned cricketer known for his exceptional wicket-keeping skills. He received the "Best Wicketkeeper in the World" award during the 1983 World Cup, where India achieved a historic victory. Kirmani, often referred to as "The Crisis Man," played a pivotal role in saving matches for both Karnataka and India, earning him a reputation as a match winner. In recognition of his contributions, Kirmani has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award in 1983, as well as the Ekalavya Award in 1992. He also received the Rajiv Vikas Ratan Award in 1994 and the CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award by the BCCI in 2016. In 2018, he was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indo-Global Chamber of Commerce and Rotary.

Nikhil Dey

Founding member of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan

Nikhil Dey was one of the founding members of the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) along with Aruna Roy and Shankar Singh. Since 1990, he has been a full-time worker of the MKSS, and a part of the organisation's decision-making collective. He has also been a part of the organisation's involvement in collective larger campaigns - most notably for the people's Right to Information (RTI), and the Right to Work (MGNREGA). He campaigned for the demand of a Social Accountability Law that is scheduled to be introduced for passage in the 2023 monsoon session of the Rajasthan State Assembly. He is also apart of the founding group for "Jan Sarokar", a network of Indian social movements, which organised Indian 'people's parliament' due to the lack of parliamentary oversight for five months during the Covid-19 lockdown, and organises janata parliaments for budget demands from social movements.

Prasad Bidapa

Fashion stylist and Textile revivalist

Prasad Bidapa has been a pioneer in the Indian Fashion industry since the last four decades. He is popular as the iconic fashion guru of India. An alumnus of NID Ahmedabad, he is the creator of high-profile events line India's men fashion week, Colombo International Fashion week, Kingfisher Fashion Awards and Mega Model Hunt. A textile expert himself, he has presented the Rajasthan heritage week since 2015. This is a project he developed for the government of Rajasthan under Hon. CM. Smt. Vasundhara Raje. This is considered to be one of the most successful khadi and handloom revival projects in the country. He has presented shows in the USA, Japan, Sweden, the middle East, Singapore, Sri Lanka and other nations. In 2019, he presented the Mahatma Gandhi sesquicentennial show at the embassy of India, Qatar. He recently presented the sarees of India showcase for the Ministry of Finance as part of the G20 Summit held in Bengaluru.

Ravivarma Kumar

Senior Advocate

Prof. Ravivarma Kumar is a former Advocate General of Karnataka,whose expertise are in Constitutional law, Social justice, Human Rights, PILs, Administrative Law and Legal literacy. He fought for tenants under the Karnataka Law Reforms Act, 1961, in more than 8,000 instances as a government advocate for the land reforms cell. In the Supreme Court, he appeared in the case of Dr Ramdoss of the PMK versus Union of India, demanding caste census and in the Mandal case on reservation for backward classes . He represented the students in Hijab case, Muslim reservation case, and 10% reservation for EWC case. He has represented many churches when there was attach when the masses were conducted. In the High Court of Karnataka, his celebrated case includes prevention of the construction of a five-star hotel in the Nagarahole National Park. He was appointed the first chairman of the Backward Classes Commission in 1997.

Sreevatsa Subramonian

Mr Sreevatsa Subramonian, a Josephite who passed out of The St Josephs College of Arts and Science in 1973 went on to do law, enrolled as a lawyer in 1976 and started independent practice on 1st April, 1977. He was designated a Senior Advocate on 4th March, 2008. He has developed an App called Trial Tips. He has been associated with the Lions Club, Round Table, Sumanahalli Leprosy Colony, Nirmala Sishu Bhavan for mentally challenged children, The Bettamugilalam Govt School in Krishnagiri District. He has been on the Disciplinary Committee of the Karnataka State Bar Council for two terms and was Vice President of the Mayo Hall Advocates Association for two terms. He has lectured at the Karnataka Judicial Academy, the All India Judicial Union and Beyond Law and also taught the Code of Civil Procedure at Christ College for a while as a guest lecturer. He enjoys reading, music and golf.

Vibha Nadig

Founder and Director of Outlawed India

Vibha, a graduate of the National Law School, believes in educational equity and hopes to see a world where the law is accessible to everyone. In the 8th grade she worked with an NGO called Pratham to develop a curriculum that helps students develop 21st century skills, and ensured it's application by teaching students in Mysore. She was also a member of Reap Benefit's, Ist ever Youth Board wherein she expanded her knowledge about civic issues and exercised her problem-solving skills. She served on the Advisory Board of Agami India, and also pursued an Editorial Fellowship with The Bastion, a developmental journalism magazine. In 2019 Vibha founded Outlawed India which is a not-for-profit company working to equip the communities with knowledge and tools required to independently access justice. In her final year of law school, she chose to pursue Outlawed India full time. Vibha is currently serving as the founder and director of Outlawed India.

Vichar BN

Digital Sculptor

B N Vichar is a Bengaluru based digital sculptor. He is a self taught computer graphics artist with a combined experience in production and gaming for almost 20 years. He has an additional knowledge of more than a decade in traditional art. He was the only Indian to be selected to Zbrush, a competition in which he bagged the 3rd prize at the age of 35. Early on in his career, he had the privilege to work as a personal sculptor for Late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, Maharaja of Mysore. Currently, he works as an art director at Technicolour Bengaluru, is an executive member of ABAI, an academic council member of Chitrakala Parishad and NEP community member at Hampi University. His works also extend in the areas of clay sculpting, restoration, installation art and landscape gardening.
