In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Başak Helen Taşkan

Başak Helen Taşçı, a 1997 graduate in Environmental Engineering, has over 20 years of experience. Starting as an engineer in EU projects, she transitioned to logistics management, specializing in hazardous material transport. As a consultant, she led projects in sustainability, risk management, and more. In the past 12 years, she focused on aviation, developing and managing corporate responsibility and sustainability strategies. Taşçı was the first SQAS assessor in Turkey. She holds expertise in business excellence, sustainability, risk, and compliance. In 2019, she completed a master's in Organizational Psychology at Bilgi University.

Deniz Fıstıkçı from Alkev High School has been interested in the violin instrument for 10 years and has been trying to learn its niceties.The violin performance she will share with us is Hassapikos, an anonymous Greek folk tune arranged by Waterfield and Kreamer. The work reminds us of the breeze and blue of the Aegean coast and the brotherhood/sisterhood of the peoples.

Kerim Suner

Kerim Suner (born in 1967) has been a passionate photographer for many years besides his computer engineering career. He is extensively working with historic photographic processes in his studio in Istanbul. As the only son of a computer engineer and a gallerist, in 2000 he combined both his parent's professions and founded Turkey's first art portal lebriz.com, which currently hosts over half a million works of over ten thousand artists.

Özlem Gürses

Özlem Gürses (born 18 August 1970, Ankara) is a Turkish journalist, news presenter, public relations and communication specialist. She was born in Ankara as the daughter of a Georgian mother and a father from Kırşehir. She completed her primary and high school education at Ted Ankara College. Then she got the right to enter METU Faculty of Architecture, Department of City and Regional Planning. She transferred to METU Architecture Department as a high honor student and top student in the same department. A traffic accident while she was doing her Master's degree in the History of Architecture program brought her to Istanbul and the media world.

Eldener, born in Ankara in 1972, is a graduate of TED Ankara College. She received her PhD and bachelor's degree from METU Faculty of Architecture, Department of City Planning. She holds a master's degree from University College London. The English translation of the novel Göbekli Tepe Guard, published by Altın Kitaplar by Eldener, who has 2 novels, has also been published. She has many academic articles on marketing published in the USA. Eldener, who has experience in marketing, CRM, investment, pricing, merchandising and e-commerce, is an expert in system building and data classification. She established Turkey's first online book and toy donation system for preschool children. She is married and mother of two daughters.
