Viktor Frankl, an Austrian neurologist, psychologist and Holocaust survivor said, “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

In the first ever TEDxNantymoel salon event, hosted by The Brothers' Cafe in Nantymoel, attendees will watch inspiration TED and TEDx talks centred around the topic of overcoming challenges, tragedies and adversity. As part of the programme, we will watch theTEDxNantymoel talk given by Simon Green in 2020, to commemorate his tragic death earlier this year (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-60761872), amongst other thought-provoking recordings. Attendees will also have time to have an informal discussion about their own thoughts and experiences.

Trigger warning - the talks being shown in this TEDxNantymoel salon event will include discussion of sensitive topics including suicide, violent death and experiences of disability and loss. Attendees are advised to think about their own wellbeing throughout, and ensure they are emotionally comfortable with the topics.
