Theme: Ripples to Waves

This event occurred on
September 17, 2022
AHMEDABAD, Gujarat
India

Ripples, as we simply understand, are capillary waves, most commonly seen in water and sand, caused by the subtle interaction of wind and water, or the physical interaction of water with another object.
Ripples metaphorically mean the effects of our actions in life- the ones that extend out beyond where we can observe them. Most often than not, ripple effect has positive connotation. Genuine admiration for someone, and demonstrating it, can make all the difference in one’s life. This can be actualized by making someone feel needed and important, by propelling them on a positive path emotionally, physically and mentally.
However, this works only if there is no holding back. If we hold back from admiring others, it will lead to no positive ripple effect.
In the field of education, the ripple effect occurs when the action or experience of a student influences the behaviour of other students. The behaviour of teachers, both inside and outside the classroom, will affect the way students learn, and this is known as the Kuonin Ripple Effect.
So, if you cause one person to feel upbeat in their life, they are more likely to pass along a kind act to another, possibly, without even realizing it. That is because when we release kindness into the world around us, that in all probability, will burgeon into waves of goodness.
If a wind blows steadily across a large patch of water for a few hours, the ripples grow into waves and these certainly do not ebb easily, but generate a steady flow.
Similarly in life, these waves of goodness, will improve our sense of contentment, increase serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin and these feel-good hormones in turn, improve our mood, reduce pain and boost feelings of love.
Thus, every positive ripple in our lives, in any form, in any situation, can burgeon into waves, but only if we have the inclination and the willingness to initiate and forge them forward and all around us.
