In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ariya Arora is a high school junior who lives in the greater Los Angeles area. She enjoys playing basketball, playing piano, and eating sushi. Ever since she was young she’s had an affinity for working with her hands. Now Ariya sees product design as a means to create thoughtful, sustainable products.

Garett Ho is a high school junior interested in engineering and medicine. He enjoys volleyball, eating Asian food, and playing video games with friends. Inspired by the love he has for his grandma, Garett wants others to feel some form of comfort taking care of the seniors in their families.

Lance is currently a high school senior who is interested in pursuing engineering, programming, and environmental policymaking. He ultimately aspires to apply technology for environmental benefit in college and beyond. During his free time, Lance enjoys playing competitive badminton, driving with friends, and exploring new restaurants.

Rishan Baweja

Rishan Baweja is a high school senior who intends to major in computer science. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, hiking, and anything related to nature. Rishan’s passion for the environment inspired him to create a solution to the global issue of food waste.

Sean Benedict Bernardo Gomez

Sean Gomez is a high school junior interested in engineering and emergency medicine. He studies Japanese language and culture and reads 3D printer manuals for fun. By utilizing his engineering skills and interest in fire safety, he created a solution to assist in offline communication during fire evacuations.
