In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mário Tarouca

Born in Covilhã, Mário Tarouca graduated in Business Management at the University of Coimbra, and later joined the Executive Board of the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises (JE Europe) in Brussels. Upon his return to Portugal, he formed the Sales Team at Landing.jobs and, at the same time, managed several short-term rental apartments in Lisbon. This experience led him to launch his own company, Breadfast. After 2 years Mario sold Breadfast to EatTasty where he was Head of Growth for 3 years. In May 2022, he decided to join his co-founder and launch Framedrop - an off-stream monetization platform for live-streamers.

Vitor Magalhães

Born in Porto, Vítor holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. was part of first Internet operator in Portugal, the PUUG (Portuguese Unix User Group), where it arrived to be responsible for managing the approximately 200 people who, at the time, were connected to the Internet in Portugal. He created the first Portugal Telecom website and was founder of the first Voice over Internet operator in Portugal, Netcall, a company that in 2005 had an investment of 1.8M Euros. Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, Vítor Magalhães became a co-founder of @byside.leadactivation in 2006, the company where he is currently CEO. BySide is a Digital Marketing company that helps big brands to listen and get to know their customers on digital channels.
