In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alexa Topacio

Sierra College Communications Student
Alexa is a Whitney alum who graduated with the class of 2022 last spring. She found her passion for broadcast journalism through her heavy involvement in WCTV19 and is an aspiring broadcast journalist. Alexa will be at Sierra College to study Communications.

Camille Cannon

Multimedia Journalist
Camille Cannon is a multimedia storyteller, having written and produced content for outlets including Vegas Seven magazine, CBS Radio, and Life Is Beautiful music festival. As a social media manager and strategist for public service organizations, Cannon built partnerships between libraries and the NHL and WNBA, including the introduction of a Vegas Golden Knights library card. A first-generation college graduate, Cannon cares deeply about making knowledge and education more accessible. She earned a B.A. in Media Studies from UC Berkeley and will complete an MBA from UC San Diego in Fall 2022. Cannon is a proud graduate of Whitney High School’s inaugural Class of 2008.

Evan Adler

Veternarian
Dr. Evan Adler, a veterinarian and cancer survivor, finds a joyful urgency in pursuing the idea of finding his center and inspiring others through his experiences. His interests include sustainable gardening, beekeeping, chicken raising, as well as hiking with his wife and his dog, Milou. He graduated from University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine and Colorado State University with a degree in Environmental Health and Safety.

Kristyn Marshall

Life Coach
Kristyn Marshall is a transformative coach that uses her love for God to cultivate leadership and inspire others. Kristyn is a dynamic speaker who loves teaching Christian education, business consulting and leadership development. Professionally, Kristyn has seven years of experience working as an executive and administrative support professional. Kristyn holds two master’s degrees—An MS in worship studies with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling and an MBA in Human Resource Management. Neil Pattanaik

GBHS Student
Neil Pattanaik is a junior attending Granite Bay High School who hopes on majoring in Business and aspires to be an economic analyst. As a student athlete player, Neil heavily relies on hard work and self-discipline to get him where he wants to go. He believes that integrity and self control is the only way to achieve success.

Rohan Movva

Student Journalist and Speech Advocate
Rohan Movva is a senior in high school at Fulton Science Academy in Milton, GA aspiring for a future in public policy or journalism. As a student leader in his community and a part of his school news team he quickly developed a passion for the world around him. He is a national leader for the Student Press Law Center's New Voices initiative for Student Press Freedom. Coming from a small city in Georgia, community is a key piece of who Rohan is. He believes that students speaking up and creating differing perspectives builds a stronger community.
