Η κρίση της πανδημίας αποτέλεσε αδιαμφισβήτητα ορόσημο για τις ζωές όλων μας και ο τρόπος που αντιλαμβανόμαστε τον κόσμο γύρω μας άλλαξε ριζικά. Πολλές έννοιες επαναπροσδιορίστηκαν και η αβεβαιότητα για το παρόν – πόσο μάλλον για το μέλλον – έγινε κομμάτι της καθημερινότητάς μας. Μαζί, όμως, με την αύξηση της αβεβαιότητας έγινε πιο επιτακτική από ποτέ και η ανάγκη για την αντιμετώπισή της, μέσω της βελτίωσης της προσαρμοστικότητάς μας.

Το μέλλον μας είναι - κατά κύριο λόγο - αβέβαιο και η μόνη βεβαιότητα για την επόμενη μέρα είναι η ανάγκη για διαρκή αλλαγή.

Μήπως όμως μπορούμε να κάνουμε κάτι για να δημιουργήσουμε το μέλλον εμείς οι ίδιοι;

Μήπως πρέπει να το γνωρίσουμε όσο καλύτερα μπορούμε και να προετοιμαστούμε κατάλληλα;

Μήπως γίνεται να εκπαιδευτούμε στην προσαρμοστικότητά μας στις αλλαγές;

Αυτά ακριβώς τα ερωτήματα θα προσπαθήσουν να απαντήσουν οι ομιλητές του TEDxMetropolitanCollege, μέσα από τις δικές τους ιστορίες επιτυχίας. Ιστορίες που μας συστήνουν το μέλλον από ομιλητές διαφόρων τομέων, οι οποίοι εξειδικεύονται σε σύγχρονες μεθόδους – τεχνολογικές και όχι μόνο – και μας πάνε ένα βήμα πιο μπροστά, προσωπικές αφηγήσεις από ανθρώπους που ξεχώρισαν με αποφασιστικές κινήσεις και δημιούργησαν το δικό τους μέλλον ξεπερνώντας όλα τα εμπόδια, άνθρωποι που είδαν απλά τα πράγματα αλλιώς και καινοτόμησαν, αλλά και συζητήσεις για τις δεξιότητες που θα χρειαστεί ο άνθρωπος του μέλλοντος, συνθέτουν αυτό το φουτουριστικό συνέδριο TEDx.

The aim of TEDxMetropolitanCollege is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

Dimitra Marina Giordamli

Corporate Affairs Prisma Electronics SA
Dimitra was born in Alexandroupolis, Greece. Early in her life started participating in running the family business, Prisma Electronics S.A. She studied Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and today she is operating with the LAROS Division (Maritime) at Prisma Electronics as Corporate Affairs as well as a key executive representing the Company at international exhibitions and conferences. She is an elected Commissioner for International Relations in the International Maritime and Industrial Association “WIMA”.

Dimitris Dimitriadis

Futurist
Devoted to ‘exploring’ the future and spotting the trends and technologies that are shaping our world. Dimitris is a ‘digital futurist’. His mission is to give the world a better understanding of how society, human interactions and business will look like in the years to come. As a public speaker on future trends, he gives his audience an optimistic, yet down-to-earth take on the future and how technologies disrupt everything we do. On the stage of conferences such as TEDxUOM, SocialMediaWeek, Digital Communications Network, he answers the big and smaller questions that will define humanity: how do exponential technologies, such as AI, blockchain, and 3D printing, merge together and shape our world? What will the human-machine relationship look like? How will education, construction, medicine and all other industries are being disrupted?

Dr Epaminondas Christofilopoulos

Head, UNESCO Chair on Futures Research/FORTH - Chief Scientific Advisor, Special Secretariat for Strategic Foresight, Presidency of the Government
Epaminondas Christofilopoulos holds the UNESCO Chair on Futures Research, hosted by the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, and is Chief Scientific Advisor to the Special Secretariat for Foresight, at the Presidency of the Government. He is an Onassis Foundation Fellow and holds a PhD in Strategic Foresight, while his academic profile also includes studies in Physics (BSc), Environment (MSc) and International Relations. He has worked in the fields of technology transfer and international research cooperation, coordinating many projects in Europe, Latin America, Asia and especially China. He has been working in the field of futures research since 2010, designing and implementing a variety of projects on topics such as the future of innovation, technology, work, urban farming and China. He is the chairman of the Foresight Europe Network and co-chairman of the Greek node of the Millennium Project.

Dr Fiori Metallinou

Astrophysicist - Science Communication, National Observatory of Athens
Is a Public Outreach Officer at the Visitor Center of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), in Thissio. She received her diploma in Physics, and her M.Sc. degree in Atmospheric and Environmental Physics from the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, and her Ph.D in "Development and Recovery of Magnetic Storms in Geospace". Her research background is on simulating ion acceleration in the Earth's magnetosphere during magnetic storms. She has collaborated with the Centre d’étude des Environnements Terrestre et Planetaires, the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, and the National Technical University of Athens, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She has received a diploma in classical singing. She coordinates public outreach activities at the NOA and contributes to the dissemination of astronomy and space physics concepts with public lectures, articles in the media and activities combining Science and Art.

Dr Machi Symeonidou

CEO & Co-Founder of AgroApps
Machi Symeonidou is a Business Development Manager with more than 15 years of experience in business strategy, corporation management and operational improvement under her belt. As an Agroeconomist, passionate about agricultural technologies, in 2016, together with a team of experts she co-founded Agroapps, a company dedicated to the provision of sustainable solutions that help modern farming and agriculture. She is an active entrepreneur having co-founded and exited from 2 companies. Over the last 15 years, Machi has managed multidisciplinary projects, developed stellar teams and effective networks in the domains of agri-food and sustainable development. She is always keen to discuss the next great idea and even keener to move quickly from discussion to implementation.

Malou Larsinou

Health & Wellness Lifestyle Entrepreneur
Malou Larsinou, is a certified health & wellness coach, as well as the co-founder of Nama Group. Her activity focuses on establishing the fundamentals of functional living through pillars such as diet, exercise, self-care etc. Both individuals and corporate clients distinguish her work for the combination of its deep scientific knowledge, with its refreshing approach. Malou adopts the logic of each person's diversity and the phase of life they are in, as well as the balance of all the pillars that contribute to the achievement of well-being. Her vision is to create a better world, spreading the idea of self-care and self-love, as the driving forces of well-being. She has studied, lived and worked in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Stelios Malakopoulos

Distinguished Track and Field Paralympic Athlete.
Stelios is a distinguished track and field Paralympic athlete. He has won a silver medal in the men’s 200m T62 at the Para-Athletics World Championships in Tokyo.

Vivian Paraschou

Founder of INOMO
Being an incurable optimist, Vivian believes in the power of change and in the new age. She loves everything about design, innovation and energy. She enjoys discussing innovative ideas and business initiatives with a social impact. Founder and Partner of INOMO company, she loves everything about design,architecture whie her values for sustainability and energy efficiency importance in 2022 have driven her to dedicate her expertise to Energy Sector working with Schneider Electric Greece. Vivian is a Startup Entrepreneur, Business and Sales Development Manager, and Innovation Strategist. She was awarded with 1st Prize Award Squeeze Competition by Orange Grove and Dutch Embassy & Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on 2018 and with the Public Award at CapsuleT Competition by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels on 2020. She has been selected with INOMO to complete the 7th Cycle of Eurobank Incubator “egg” (2019 - 2020) and the CapsuleT Accellerator (2020).
