David Wengrow (TED Video)

Proposes New Ways To Think About The History Of Human Social Development - And The Rise Of Inequality.
Who are we, how did we get here and how might we live together most effectively? David Wengrow is trained in archaeology and anthropology at the University of Oxford, and he believes that these two fields might just hold new ways to think about the ways society and culture have developed. Now a professor of archaeology at University College London, he has conducted archaeological fieldwork in Africa and the Middle East, and he makes the case that archaeological research is the only reliable way to reconstruct most of our species' history. "It has the power to challenge myths and overthrow conventional wisdom about what it means to be human," he says. Together with his co-author, the late anthropologist David Graeber, Wengrow wrote the bestselling book- The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity.

Elon Musk (TED Video)

Co-Founded & Leads Tesla, Spacex, Neuralink And The Boring Company.
At Tesla, Elon Musk leads all product design, engineering and global manufacturing of the company's electric vehicles, battery products and solar energy products. At SpaceX, he oversees the development of rockets and spacecraft for missions to Earth orbit and ultimately to other planets. SpaceX is developing Starship - a fully reusable transportation system that will carry crew and cargo to the Moon, Mars and beyond - and Starlink, which will deliver high-speed broadband internet to places where access has been unreliable, expensive or completely unavailable. At Neuralink, which is developing brain-machine interfaces to connect the human brain to computers, and The Boring Company, which combines fast, affordable tunneling technology with an all-electric public transportation system to try and alleviate soul-crushing urban congestion. Previously, Musk co-founded PayPal, the world's leading internet payment system, and Zip2, one of the first internet maps and directions services.

Jennifer Heldmann (TED Video)

Spearheads Robotic And Human Exploration Of The Solar System, With An Eye To Answering The Central Question: "Are We Alone?"
Jennifer Heldmann is investigating the possibility of life in the universe. Dedicated to human exploration of space, she's working to enable a long-term and sustainable human presence on the Moon, Mars and beyond. A member of NASA's VIPER mission science team, she's helping develop real-time protocols and analysis tools for a lunar polar rover mission set to launch in 2023. A constant theme in Heldmann's work: water. Her Mars research focuses on studies of recent water on the Red Planet through spacecraft data analysis, numerical modeling and fieldwork in Mars-like environments such as the Australian Outback, the Atacama Desert and Antarctica. She also studies surface and subsurface ice deposits on the Earth to explore the potential habitability of cold, icy places elsewhere in the solar system. And she looks at ice near the lunar poles to understand the evolution of the solar system. All in the name of enabling humans to one day live on both the Moon and Mars.

Manish Bhardwaj (TED Video)

Believes That Moral Clarity Should Guide How We Use Science, Engineering And Technology To Create A More Just World.
Manish Bhardwaj believes that enduring justice requires framing issues in moral terms. Disciplines such as science, technology, innovation and design might be powerful tools, but they can't tell us what the world ought to be or how we should use them to create a better world. Such insights are concerns of moral clarity, he says. This focus has formed the foundation of Bhardwaj's teaching at Princeton, where he has taught about moral clarity, idealism and the nature of justice and injustice. Bhardwaj is the CEO of Innovators In Health (IIH), a non-profit committed to ensuring high-quality health care for the rural poor in India. Over the past decade, IIH has served close to 100,000 patients with tuberculosis and maternal health challenges. Bhardwaj is also a fellow of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT, his alma mater.
