In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alvira Tripathi

``Never trust your fears; they don’t know your strengths,” said Alvira Tripathi, a 14-year-old student of The Shriram School, Moulsari. Ms. Tripathi climbed up to the Everest Base Camp when she was 9. When she was 11, she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and became the 2nd Youngest Asian to do so. Along with this she has made Know On the Go, a normal knowledge-based board game for children aged 7 to 14 years old. Her social initiative on Water Aerators is actually helping the community save almost 40 lakh liters of water everyday and she believes this is just the start.
