Theme: Paradigms

TEDxKangere themed “Paradigms” seeks to open the minds of Bauchi state citizens to be bigger and better for opportunities in the most diverse ways possible and put the state at the global spot light. The event also seeks to explore ways through which people could explore and exploit niches to make better living environment and also better lives for themselves.
TEDxKangere will present multiple issues and a diversity of voices from many disciplines which include Technology, Education, Social Injustice, Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovations, Insecurity, Leadership and Good Governance, Community Building and Personal Development among other specializations. The event will include a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that are idea-focused, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

Alice Inyang

Personal Development Coach

Alice Inyang is a Lawyer, Podcaster, and Creative Professional operating across different fields. She runs a weekly Podcast: E-volve, a podcast that explores matters around personal growth, relationships, and wellness through conversations and interviews with guests who share their expertise on these matters. As a social entrepreneur, she helps creative individuals and professionals feel safe to identify their soft spots so they can reframe them as opportunities in unconventional ways. Her advocacy includes grassroots development with a passion for empowering the youth. She volunteers as a Media and Communication Lead at D’Survivor Hub an Independent Non-Profit Governmental Organization that promotes the awareness of Intimate Partners Violence and supports both victims and survivors. Her mission is to create avenues that lead to social change through writing, podcasting, and, mentoring young talents in arts, culture, and creative business development.

Ekpa Stanley Ekpa

Leadership and Law

Ekpa, Stanley Ekpa is a lawyer, nation builder and public intellectual. He is the Principal Partner of Plan Partners. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Corruption Cases Law Report and the Nigerian Code of Conduct Law Report. Ekpa is a lawyer with practice interest in anti-graft, constitutional, public policy, governance, democratic and development laws. Ekpa is an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru (where he completed the Policy, Strategy and Leadership Course 42); holds a Master’s degree in Leadership Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. He publishes on different national dailies including ThisDay, Nation, Sun, DailyTrust, Blue Print, Vanguard and Independent Newpapers.

Jamila Mohammed Dahiru

Community Develoment Advocate

Jamila Mohammed Dahiru is a lecturer with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State, She is currently a PhD student with Bayero University, Kano and a fellow with Centre for Leadership Strategy and Development. Dahiru shares expanse of research prowess across different fields including Development Communication and Community Engagements. She has over 20 academic articles and chapters published in peer-reviewed journals and books and has served as a research consultant for various local and international organisations including Options, FCDO - Lafiya Project Reboot, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USAID, Reboot and Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC). Jamila is a winner of Open Contracting Society/HIVOS and Kaduna State 2020 Education grants. As a social advocate, she engages in community services. She is the founder of We Care Foundation, memeber Board of Trustee, Tonnie Iredia Centre for Media Advocacy (TICMA),

Muazu Shehu

Environment and Climate Change Enthusisat.

Dr Muazu Shehu, is the Director-General, Research & Documentation in the Office of the Executive Governor of Gombe State. He is also an Associate Professor of Environmental Sociology at the Gombe State University. A multidisciplinary social scientist and development policy specialist, he was the pioneer Programme Coordinator of the Gombe Goes Green environmental restoration programme. Before he joined the Gombe State Government in 2020, Dr Shehu was a Research Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich in Germany. He received his BSc and MSc from the Ahmadu Bello University and Bayero University, Nigeria, respectively. He obtained his PhD in sociological studies from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He is a member of the Sustainability and Development Research Network University of Michigan, the American Academy of Religion, the British Sociological Association and International Sociological Association.

Onyekaonwu Victory

Development Education Expert

Onyekaonwu Victory is a Teens/youth development coach, productivity catalyst, transformational leader and personal development expert. Her quest to help young people enhance personal effectiveness and advance community development inspired her to kickstart Esteemed Teens International where she provides young people with access to mentoring and coaching on entrepreneurship, leadership and life skills so they're able to live productively and contribute meaningfully to their community and social development. She has also served as Tony Elumelu foundation entrepreneurship mentor, where she has helped thousands of young African entrepreneurs gain clarity and direction and also position themselves for global relevance. Onyekaonwu Victory is a certified Computer Engineer who's completely dedicated to social innovation and human capital development.

Saied Tafida

Open Governance Activist

Saied Tafida has over 15 years of experience researching new ways to redefine policy formulation around Public finance management, participatory governance and strengthening communities. He co-founded several NGOs and CBOs, including Transparency in Totality- FollowTaxes, mobilising citizens and governments toward effective public finance management and open governance. Saied Tafida is among the Open Government global leaders network. His contributions continuously strengthen civil societies towards transparency and accountability for effective service delivery. He is a multiple award winner both locally and internationally.
