In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal

Disability Activist
Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal is a trained lawyer with years of experience in the world of media.Her passion which centers on driving conversations around the plight of disability in Nigeria led her to establishing her foundation: Amputees United Initiative, a social group.She is currently the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Persons Living With Disability. A goalkeeper with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation who actively uses advocacy to push for and encourage the inclusion of persons living with disability in Nigeria.

Alma Asinobi is a storyteller and content creator based in Lagos, Nigeria. She got her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture, but washed her hands off it.She currently works as the Product Marketing Lead at Kwara - a Kenyan based fintech start up.Alma Asinobi also manages Global Communications at Chess in Slums Africa - a nonprofit initiative providing education and mentorship opportunities to children in slum communities through chess. She's currently on a mission to visit every country in the world in the next 10 years so she spends her time travelling around the world, experiencing people, telling their stories, and just in case her employers can hear this... working remotely.

Solomon Oluwatobi Ayodele is a Global Boy Child Advocate, Digital Transformation Enthusiast, Afrophile, Gender-Based Violence Expert and Social Entrepreneur. He holds a degree in Political Science & Public Administration and an MBA, from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Business School, United Kingdom.Solomon is the convener of the Boys Too Project, a continent-wide campaign on the sexual abuse of the Boy Child. He is also the host of the yearly Exchange Project and Academy held at a Special Correctional Centre for Boys. He recently hosted Africa’s international boys child summit.he is the curator of the men-themed conversation called -Guyversations. Guyversation is a mental and emotional safe space for men to talk, to be heard and to find healing.He is the Author of Boyfession – a very short insightful and transformational e-book for Boys and those who love them.

He believes young people have the capacity to do exploits, create impact and accomplish daring tasks no matter their age or background. The LinkedIn superstar and Gen Z leader is blazing the trail and inspiring thousands of people, both old and young, to greatness. That event has caused several ripple effects, one of which is making him the undergraduate with the largest professional network in Nigeria. He is also passionate about the development of Africa, hence he co-founded Hemm Africa, a movement aimed at revolutionizing a sector at a time.

Hakeem Onasanya

Hakeem Onasanya is the Special Adviser to the Chairperson, Board of Trustees of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). he also served as a member of the committee of the Lagos MSME Recovery Fund which supported 4,000 businesses across Lagos state.He is also the Director, Policy & Government Relations at the Eko Chapter of Junior Chambers International (JCI). In this capacity, he is responsible for bridging the gap between the association and the relevant government agencies across Lagos state. Prior to working at LSETF, he completed a master’s degree in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. His master’s degree was fully funded by the Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG), an initiative of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation.Hakeem Onasanya is also an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos, where he obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. He is a 2022 Royal Africa Leadership Forum (RAYLF) awardee.
