昨年に続き 淡路島にて第2回目のTEDxAwaji開催します。今年のテーマは Ikigai（生きがい）私たちはどこへ行くのか。

TEDxAwaji は、淡路島に住むメンバーによって設立されました。地域の人々が世界に 向けて発信できるプラットフォームを提供することと淡路島に新しいアイデアをもた らすことを目的としています。第1回目として昨年開催された「Be a Ripple - 小さな選択の影響力」が大成功を収め、第2回目は「生きがい」をテーマに再び開催することになりました。人生の目的を持つこと、そしてその目的をどのように見つけるかについての「生きがい」のヒントを見つけることができます。ぜひご参加ください。

We are pleased to announce the second edition of TEDxAwaji – Ikigai: Where Are We Going?

TEDxAwaji was founded by the residents of Awaji to give locals a voice and platform to the world and to bring new ideas to the community of Awaji Island. After the resounding success of our first edition "Be a Ripple - The influence of small choices", This December, we will be back under the theme of “Ikigai: Where Are We Going?”. Our speakers will reflect on the idea of Ikigai, having a purpose in life, and how to find that purpose. Be ready to get inspired!

Details of the event:
- Date and time: December 18th (Sunday) from 11:00 to 16:30 (doors open at 10:45)
- Language: English session and Japanese session (4 speakers each; subtitles will be provided)
- Limited number of tickets: 100 tickets

Emily Bailey

Teacher

Emily Bailey is an author, illustrator, and educator from England. She loves to travel and has visited all 47 prefectures of Japan while teaching in a child-led forest preschool. Emily has a passion for learning and uses this to find ways to understand and support neurodivergent children as well as children with other special educational needs. Emily’s goal for the future is to write children’s books to help neurodivergent and neurotypical children understand each other, and find ways to celebrate their differences together. エミリーさんはイングランド出身の作家、イラストレーター、そして教育者としてご活躍中です。 子供が主体性を持って学ぶことをモットーとした淡路島の森の中にある幼稚園で働きながら、旅行が大好きで、日本の４７都道府県を全て訪れたご経験もお持ちです。 教育へ情熱を注ぎ精力的に活動をされており、（脳の機能が異なり様々な違いがある）、ニューロダイバージェントの子どもや、特別な教育ニーズを持った子どもたちにたいして、より深く理解し、支援できる方法はないかと常に考えていらっしゃるそうです。 将来は、ニューロダイバージェントの子どもと、そうでない子どもがお互いを理解し、その違いを共に尊重しあえる方法を見出すための児童書を書くことが目標とのことです。

Haruna Shiga

Startup Founder

Haruna was a researcher at Tokyo University’s department of life sciences. After seeing too much brilliant research and technology never making it off paper, she grew frustrated and abandoned her beloved science to study business, intent on encouraging more real-life implementation of promising research. She joined P&G immediately after graduating from university. Feeling there was a dire need for a system of career progression that is in tune with women’s life stages, Haruna developed Eggu. This service utilizes biological science to help women plan their life and career. In 2021, as a parallel business, Haruna also founded BeLiebe. 東京大学にて医療生命科学の研究に従事。優れた研究や技術が論文止まりになっていることに課題意識を持ち、『研究の社会実装』を実現すべく大好きな研究を離れビジネスを学ぶことを決意。新卒でP&Gに入社し、バイヤーとして製造からマーケティングまで幅広いビジネスに携わると同時に、ジェンダー平等に関わる様々なプロジェクトにも抜擢され、社内外の研修や制度導入等をリードする。女性のライフステージの変化に伴うキャリアアップの実現に大きな課題を感じたことをきっかけに、『研究の社会実装』を通じて生物学的な観点からライフキャリア計画ができるようなサービス「EggU(エッグ)」を開発し、2021年パラレルキャリアとして株式会社BeLiebeを起業。

Hiroshi Tomochi

Ocarina Artist

Born in Minamiawaji in 1982. Ocarina Maker. After a stint working as a chef, Hiroshi began his career in calligraphic art in 2008. Since then, his brushwork has reached an audience of around 50,000 people. 2015 brought a fateful encounter with the ocarina, and the next year, he began to produce the instruments from the clay used for Awaji-gawara tiles. Hiroshi’s ocarinas have even found favour among professional players. In 2021, he launched the Ocarina Island Project. With the principal aim of fostering the next generation of ocarina makers, he promotes ocarinas as a feature of the island’s local industry, education, culture, and tourism. 1982年南あわじ市出身 オカリナ製作者 料理人を経て2008年書藝家としてアーティスト活動を開始。以後5万人に書で言葉を届ける。2015年オカリナと出会い、翌年、淡路瓦の土でオカリナ製作を開始。プロ奏者にも人気のオカリナとなる。2021年より「オカリナ島プロジェクト」を発足。製作者育成を始まりとして、産業・教育・文化・観光の4つの視点でオカリナの普及を行なっている。

Jim Bouman

Youth Coach

Jim Bouman is a growth coach. He helps young people turn their passion into a source of income and fulfillment, and helps small businesses identify and maximize their growth opportunities. Jim has 1 mission in life: to be able to help anyone in 5 minutes, while he’s alive and 300+ years after he’s gone. To accomplish his life’s mission, he spends the majority of his time writing and creating online resources, reading, and experimenting with his ideas. On the side, Jim is growing a real estate agency and building a digital marketing agency. In the past, after graduating with a Master's from a top business school in Europe, Jim grew a mobile game startup in the Netherlands to 25 people in 3 years. ジム・バウマンさんは、ビジネスコーチとして活躍されています。若者に対して、彼らの情熱が収入源や生きがいとなるような支援を行われています。また、中小企業が若者の成長機会を見出し、最大限に活用できるようサポートする活動を行っていらっしゃいます。 ジムの唯一の人生のミッションは、自分自身が生きている間、5分だけでも誰かの役に立ち、その後、300年以上社会に残っていくような貢献をすることです。その使命を達成するために、彼は執筆（しっぴつ）やオンラインリソースの作成、読書、自分のアイデアを具現化することに大半の時間を費（つい）やしています。

Koichi Maeda

Ceramic Artist

Born in Awaji Island, Japan. Ceramic artist. Born as the eldest son of an onion farmer, Koichi grew up together with nature. He met his former teacher and was culture-shocked by his attitude toward life. He built a climbing kiln at the age of 25 and has continued to fire the kiln for four days and nights within the vibrant nature of Awaji Island. Saved by philosophy after the death of his former teacher, he is currently working on the Traditional Crafts x NFT project and analyzing his own work using synchrotron radiation at a national research institute. He practices philosophy to convey new appeal and attraction to his craft. 前田さんは玉葱農家の長男として生まれ/自然と共に幼少期を過ごされました。/ 恩師と出会われその後共同研究を開始。 恩師の方の生活スタイルに強い影響を受けられたようで、見えない価値や労働の可視化にこだわり活動されていらっしゃいます。 25歳で登り窯を作りあげ、豊かな島の時間の流れの中、4昼夜の窯焚きを続けているとのこと。 現在は伝統工芸×NFTプロジェクト、国立研究機関で放射光（ほうしゃこう）を使い自身の作品を解析される活動も行っております。 恩師亡き後は哲学に救われたということもあり、新たな魅力を伝えるための哲学を実践されていらっしゃいます。

Maria Shimura

Brazilian-born Japanese. Lived in Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Germany. Senior Executive Secretary and interpreter for a global animal health company in Tokyo. Maria is also an English personal trainer at International Business University, with her students ranging from moms and kids to business owners. She helps them communicate in English with confidence by sharing her own experience. Maria is also a kimono fashion show model. ブラジル生まれ、日本育ち。 カナダ、メキシコ、オーストラリア、ドイツに在住経験あり。 外資系動物薬メーカー 社長秘書 兼 通訳。 その傍ら、国際ビジネス大学校 マンツーマンイングリッシュ学科講師を務める。 日本の従来の英語教育に対して革新を起こすため、 親子から経営者の方々まで、幅広い年代・業種の生徒に対して、 自信を持って英語で意見を発信出来る英会話習得法を、自身の経験を交えて教えている。 着物モデルとしてファッションショーにも出演。 様々な国の文化、人々、コミュニケーションを実体験した中で、 日本人がより生きやすい世界になる一つのアイディアを共有する。

Graduated from Waseda University’s School of Social Sciences (and met a lot of odd characters there). Worked for an energy company. Became a mother to two children. Saurabh Nanda

Saurabh Nanda (SN), is a renowned career consultant from India who has dedicated his life to understanding the influences on our career and education decisions. After working for two and half years as a Software Engineer with Fiserv, Saurabh decided to move on and try and solve the career decision-making puzzle among Indian students. During the last decade, he has worked with hundreds of high schools and universities in 25+ countries. He is the Founder and Director of SN Mentoring, a digital native career guidance company catering to students and young professionals between the ages of 11 and 40. サウラブ・ナンダさんはインド出身です。キャリアコンサルタントとして、キャリアと教育における人生の岐路の決断が、何に影響されるのかを追究されていらっしゃいます。それまでのご経歴としては、インドで5本の指に入るエンジニアの大学、NIT Jalandharでコンピューターサイエンスを勉強し、卒業後はフォーチュン500の企業として選ばれたFiservに就職されました。ソフトウェアエンジニアとして2年半働いた後（のち）にインドの学生のキャリア選択の課題に取り組もうと決意されたとのことです。この10年間、世界を旅して何百校の高校と大学と連携し、25か国50都市で学生、家族、先生に講演やカウンセリングを行ってこられました。 現在はSN Mentoringの代表取締役社長、理事として、11歳から40歳までの学生や若いプロフェッショナル人材にキャリアガイダンスを提供されていらっしゃいます。
