" Envisioning A Better Tomorrow ". This will be an official Ted licensed event.
Youth are the hope and leaders of tomorrow, the intrepid abider of today’s legacy. Hence, we bring to you
TEDxNorthSouthUniversity, aimed at encouraging and inspiring our young minds in outstretching to the pinnacle of pre-eminence. Since our aptitude, but mostly our wisdom lead to accomplishment, it is fair enough to consider our thoughts as weapons against the world.
In this event we will have some phenomenal speakers and performers share their narratives of how they have come out of their shells and of their perseverance and success

Bobby Hajjaj

The man who introduced a new genre of politics. The man who believes in non-violent political practice and its implementations. The man who founded the political party “National Democratic Movement”. He is also an Oxford scholar who has also excelled as a columnist in various prestigious newspapers. Not to mention how he also marked his territory in the business sector. A big round of applause for our next speaker as we proudly welcome him, Mr. Bobby Hajjaj.

Gulnahar Mahbub Monika

Co-Founder Deshi Ballers

Gulnahar Mahbub Monika is one of the nineteen Bangladeshi changemakers to receive the 2021 Diana Award. She is Bangladesh's youngest female athlete to receive this honor. To abide this unyielding legacy, Monike co-founded Deshi Ballers, a platform for resolute and dedicated female basketball players to have their skills honed. This laudable individual, who is no stranger to receive accolades in her homeland, also attended the 58th International Session of the International Olympic Academy for Young Participants in 2018. She was invited to the One Young World International Summit the following year, where she was supported by The Queen's Commonwealth Trust along with getting the esteemed honor of getting to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Hussein Elius is a visionary leader, a venturesome and driven individual. In our society, people rarely go against the norm and start a venture from scratch. With his creativity, perseverance, and expertise, he chose entrepreneurship and overcame the daunting side of it. In this age of severe unemployment problems, He is an icon, especially for Bangladeshi youth.

Musician and Content Creator

Jon Kabir is a renowned Bangladeshi musician and content creator. He regularly acts in television shows and hosts his own podcast as well. He is one of the leading musicians and performers of our country.

Maria Mumu

Founder and President of Moshal Mental Health Organization

Maria Mumu, who will be the featured speaker at TEDxNorthSouthUniversity, she is well-known internationally and doesn't need an introduction. Because she is the founder and president of Moshal Mental Health and has also received the Diana Award, the highest honour for contributions to social action or humanitarianism, comparatively at an early age of 20. Maria, achieved Miss Universe Bangladesh 2019's fourth-place finalist and has devoted her life to addressing mental health concerns. She is the first mental health advocate from Bangladesh to get the Diana Award for her nonprofit organization "Moshal." Moshal started its journey barely a year ago, making it the nation's newest recipient of being a standout organisation.

She is Munzereen Shahid, a young Bangladeshi talented woman who is best known for teaching the English language (notably IELTS) on the largest online education platform in Bangladesh, ‘10 Minute School’. Her expertise in educating people through her videos is truly remarkable as she has taught more than 10 million students. Additionally, over 25,000 students have enrolled in her Spoken English Course, and over 70,000 students have bought her Spoken English Book. Every day her videos teach more than 1.5 million students from every corner of Bangladesh

Rafsan Shabab is founder of What the show. He is a brand strategists and a content creator who regularly does stand up comedy and thrills the audience with his skills.

Rashna Imam

Barrister Rashna Imam is the Managing Partner of Akhtar Imam & Associates and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh with over 18 years of work experience. She is ranked as a leading lawyer in the categories of Corporate and Finance and Dispute Resolution in the renowned international legal directories, Chambers and Partners (Asia Pacific and Global) and the A-List, 2021, Bangladesh’s Top Lawyers, a ranking by Asia Business Law Journal. Before joining the firm, Rashna gained expertise as a corporate associate at Baker ; McKenzie (London Office) through advising global giants like Arcelor Mittal and Schneider Electric and post-acquisition integration. Shafin Ahmed

Musician

Coming from a traditionally musical family, Shafin Ahmed’s career in music began at the age of nine. He joined the pioneering rock band Miles in 1979 as acoustic guitarist and later became the lead singer and bassist. He has appeared in all of the albums of Miles and has written and composed many of their top hits. In 2010, he later went on to establish a new band- “Rhythm of Life”. Throughout his career, Shafin Ahmed has exhibited outstanding artistry through his musical creations. His iconic songs include Chand Tara Shurjo, Firiye Dao, Jala Jala, Prothom Premer Moto and Fera Alena. His first song, It's Magic (Ki Jadu) was written during his school years. His perseverance and passion throughout his career is surely going to be a source of inspiration for our young and aspiring audience.

Sheikh Shabab Ahmed

Sheikh Shabab Ahmed is a moving inspiration to the young generation. This strong personality himself is an example that, not with age, but with hard work and dedication comes experience and thus brings success. He’s an incredible human being with a versatile educational background. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He is also an alumnus of St Joseph High School, Dhaka, and Notre Dame College, Dhaka.
