In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mayor of London, Chair of C40 Cities

Sadiq Khan was elected Mayor of London in 2016 and reelected in 2021. He is Chair of C40 Cities, a network of mayors in almost 100 cities taking urgent action to confront the climate crisis. Mayor Khan was one of the first leaders in the world to declare a climate emergency. Reflecting the principles of a Global Green New Deal, the Mayor also introduced a Green New Deal for London to combat the climate emergency and improve air quality, boost London’s economy and tackle inequality. As C40 Chair, Mayor Khan has committed to align the organisation’s resources behind efforts to tackle air pollution worldwide and support emissions reduction strategies – particularly in Global South cities on the frontline of the climate crisis, putting social justice at the heart of his vision for C40 cities.
