Theme: Identity and Diversity

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Calla Zhang

I am an outgoing 14-year-old girl. I enjoy exploring the diversity of the world, talking with people from different cultural backgrounds. I love science and love to explore the laws that govern our natural world. I have a silver award in JPC and a distinction award in YBTC from 2021. I also enjoy rowing. My team came 2nd in the DTD Youth Rowing Championship in 2020 and we were ranked 7th in the 2021 Nanjing Rowing Master Regatta. I am currently preparing for the 2022 Shanghai City Games. I believe “there is only one me in this world” and we are all truly unique individuals. I hope I can make my voice heard and can contribute to making the world a better place.

Chloe Zhang

13岁，惠立学校七年级学生。我热爱艺术的各种表达形式：设计、绘画、音乐都是我闲暇时的兴趣所在，舞蹈更是我生活中必不可少的一部分。我从7岁开始学习拉丁舞，曾获得2018年中国黑池舞蹈节单项第三名，2022年喜盈门上海站14岁精英赛第六名，并成功入围2021《我和我的偶像舞伴》舞蹈大赛。

Isabella Chen

12岁，惠立学校六年级学生，酷爱马术，喜爱艺术 、音乐、运动。我爱思考，爱学习，但不是书呆子；爱幽默，爱开玩笑，但更乐于助人；爱看书，爱看电影，但更爱大自然。曾在环球自然日的青少年自然科学知识挑战赛中荣获二等奖。我正在筹建惠立学校哲学俱乐部，参加过平和攀岩校队、惠立京剧戏团，对各种领域都颇有兴趣。

Jessica Ye

I am a secondary student at Huili School Shanghai, a bilingual School. I like to nurture a positive attitude, and my friends all say I am very hard-working and resilient. Since serving as a house captain last year, I have taken on a new role as safeguarding captain for my year group. At school, I enjoy learning languages, as well as debating and public speaking. I am proud to have won major national awards, such as the 21st Century National Speech Competition. I hope one day to stand on the world stage as a voice for those who have none. In my free time, I love reading books. I am also passionate about charity work, whether promoting animal welfare or building village libraries for ethnic minority children.

Justin Lu

15岁，惠立学校九年级学生，喜欢阅读科幻小说，如《三体》；喜欢音乐制作，二创经典曲目，以及原创剧本，正在创作由Rusty Lake游戏系列改编的剧本。作为音乐表演艺术生，我从二年级开始学习戏剧。2015年第一次登上大舞台演出《神笔马良》，2019年加入上海乐然表演艺术中心。2019年在音乐剧《花木兰》中扮演Mushu，2021-2022年在音乐剧《歌舞线上》中扮演Mike，2021年同时在上海惠立学校音乐剧《雾都孤儿》中扮演Fagin。2021年5月，参与世界和平合唱节，团队获得金奖。

Lesley Qin

复旦大学英语语言与文学学士，美国纽约大学电影研究硕士。曾任纽约亚美影展策展经理。过去7年负责上海科技大学与南加州大学电影学院合作的专业影视课程，所孵化的院线电影和短片屡屡入围国际A类或奥斯卡认证的顶级电影节。现任上海前滩太古里MOViE MOViE影城策展人。

Maggie Yang

惠立学校九年级学生，担任两届德院学生队长，两届惠立奖学金得主，曾获惠立年度之心奖项。参与过初中生慈善项目，并在其他慈善项目中坚持参与捐助。热爱绘画、科学、语言、及自然人文之美，同时也坚持学习绘画近十年，在艺术层面有很强烈的个人见解。在双语学习的环境下阅读了很多文学作品，并通过与来自世界各地的老师交流，受到中西方文化的影响。在辩论世界中培养了批判性思维，并找到一份个人特质与归属感。资深“怕狗”患者，在“怕狗”与“爱狗”应该如何和平共处这件事上，我很有话说。

Max Zheng

籍贯上海，14周岁，巨蟹座。优点很多，其中数谦虚最为显著。热爱语文、美术、足球、文学、社会学、哲学、法学、建筑学和平面设计，梦校是南加大，梦院是电影学院，梦系是导演系。热爱阅读，手不释卷，课余也爱参加辩论。曾尝试过写小说、写剧本，公众号“低階基皮”正在运营中，欢迎关注。

Sissi Xu

I am a 15-year-old with a passion for biology, reading, the arts, and sports. I have studied art for 8 years and some of my artwork has been selected for exhibitions. I have also studied piano for 9 years and have a Grade 8 certificate (ABRSM). I play the keyboard in the school orchestra, and I am now learning to play the violin. I am also a member of the school swimming team and have competed in various events. I enjoy equestrian sports, surfing, skiing, and snowboarding. In addition, I always find time for community service, and I am the vice president of Huili Youth Charity Fund Project.
