In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amanda Rebel

Amanda Rebel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the Denver, Colorado area. She treats climate-related grief and trauma as part of her work. She's also a certified yoga teacher.

Emma Garrard

Emma Garrard is a triathlete, marathoner, cross-country skier, and coach; she currently works in Park City, Utah as Director of the Cross Country Ski Program at the Park City Ski and Snowboard Nordic Club (a youth development program).

Katharine Coles

Katharine Coles in an American poet and educator. She served from 2006 to 2012 as Utah's third poet laureate. Ms. Coles joined the faculty at the University of Utah in 1997. In 2012 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Perla Batalla

Perla Batalla is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and well-known vocalist, who toured and recorded with Leonard Cohen for over a decade. She's comfortable in both English and Spanish, and grew up in a family immersed in music; her family ran a record shop in Los Angeles. Perla is considered a keeper of Leonard Cohen's songbook and legacy.

Shannon Decker

Shannon Decker is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of The Speedy Foundation. She began the Foundation after the death of her cousin, Jeret "Speedy" Peterson, who died by suicide in 2011. Speedy was a 3-time Winter Olympian in aerial skiing. Shannon also serves as the Youth Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the State of Nevada.
