The wave of popularity for dystopian fiction, waves of emotion one feels when reading literature or poetry, fashion waves such as bell bottoms or crop tops. It could be as simple as talking about the wave of Industrial revolution during history class, or the fluctuating stock market waves or how the second wave of any pandemic is always deadlier than the first.
