In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxYouth@OIS proudly presents our theme this year, 'ReKindle"- A little spark may ReKindle your world.
Our theme this year is ReKindle because our speakers would be sharing with you their ideas, struggles which led to the birth of epiphanies that ‘rekindled’ their motivation, fortitude and enabled them to change the world in their own unique way.

Arjun Mogre

Senior Associate Producer at Applause; Internationally Awarded Filmmaker.
Arjun currently heads the Documentaries and Unscripted Department at Applause Entertainment. He has more than a decade-long experience across mediums as an editor, writer, producer and occasionally, as director. His work has released on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Voot and other premium streaming platforms. Apart from that, his directorial work has won him awards on various National and International forums. .Arjun is an alumnus of Whistling Woods International. He has since been a visiting faculty at Whistling Woods and also taught film-making at several reputed institutions like Mumbai University, Oberoi International School,Aditya Birla World Academy, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Bombay Cambridge School to name a few.

Dhaval Shah

Co-Founder of LOCA (Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizen’s Association ) & Entrepreneur
Mr. Shah is an entrepreneur. He co-founded LOCA (Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens Association) almost 15 years ago which is registered under ministry of corporate affairs. LOCA bridges the gap between civic authorities & residents. Since then Mr. Shah has been working relentlessly with Mr. Karan his co-founder. They believe instead of blaming the systems & officials, residents in any area have the potential to speak with a unified voice and become their own advocate and change makers. LOCA could foster support systems and strengthen connections by engaging people in the area through social events and working towards common goals. He truly believe that local communities have the power the change the city for better, provided they know the right way of doing so.

Dia Daryanani

State-level swimmer & Alumni Student of Oberoi International School
Dia is a state-level swimmer from Maharashtra and focuses on distance freestyle events and has placed well at marathons and meets alike. Embarking upon her journey as a five year, the sport has been crucial in her personality development. She believes more girls and women should pursue sport and advocates for reasons why and ways in which families and our society could encourage them to do so.

Dr. Makarand Chousalkar

Veterinary Doctor
Dr. Makarand Chousalkar is a well known veterinarian in Mumbai, specialising in critical care and radiology. He has mentored and inspired many young veterinarians. He started a mobile clinic and with his dedication, perseverance and quench for innovation Dr. Chousalkar has expanded this to a clinic named Top Dog Pets Clinic in Mumbai.Through his talk, he unfolds the correlation between human medicine, environmental conditions and animal welfare, while sharing his experience and expertise about caring for animals.

Ekta Jagtiani

Chemical Engineer
Ekta is a Chemical Engineering student at ICT Mumbai with over 12 international publications under her name, and a fully-funded fellowship in Nanotechnology at University of Waterloo, Canada. Some of her many accomplishments include enriching the lives of people through breakthrough solutions in diverse areas of nanotechnology, bio-polymers, renewable energy and food micro-encapsulation, and being a delegate and member of the Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) 2022 Conference. In her talk Ekta shares how Nanotechnology will revolutionise our lives and future.

Karan Jotwani

Kiran Dighavkar

Assistant Municipal Commissioner Ward & Planning Department & Author
A Civil Engineer by education, Kiran Dighavkar has been working with MCGM as an Assistant Commissioner since 2013. He has worked on several government initiatives like public infrastructural projects, restoration of heritage structure, creating safe and vibrant public spaces and many more. Mr. Dighavar is the author of the book "The Dharavi Model", in which he shares a thrilling chronicle of the measures that were taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Dharavi, Mumbai. He shares how they saved lives and also the tales of those lost their lives fighting the battle against COVID-19. The model has been globally applauded.

Ria Dalal

Student of Oberoi International School, Activist
Ria Dalal is a high school senior of Oberoi International School, with an unquenched thirst to explore all sorts of pathways; from civic engagement with youth-led institutes, to baking desserts in her kitchen. Yet she is grounded by her love for the written word and enjoys being the person who writes it, who reads it, and who speaks it. And whilst always encouraging the people around her to elevate their voice, Ria has taken a newfound appreciation and pride in her own voice as a student, a feminist, and activist, which inspired her mini-series podcast, The World Insight.

Tavishee Banerjee

Alumni Student-Oberoi International School, Producer of short films.
Apart from India, Tavishee has also lived in Sri Lanka and Singapore. She believes that being exposed to various cultures from a young age has shaped her love for travel and the arts. She is an aspiring film director and screenwriter, and has produced short films and a stage play. She enjoys watching and making films that have a surreal touch to them, just as much as she enjoys deep and introspective conversations with those around her. Besides being an avid lover of philosophy, films, and psychology, she practices guitar, and likes reading Wikipedia articles and analysing Shakespeare.
