Shams Aalam

Indian para-swimmer & a gold-medalist at the Indian Open Para Swimming Championship,2018
Mr Shams Aalam is a paraplegic swimmer who has won four gold medals at the Indian Open Para Swimming Championship in 2018 and a bronze medal at the 2016 Can-Am Para Swimming Championships. He also represented India at the 2018 Asian Para Game in Jakarta, Indonesia. He was awarded the award for best sportsperson with disability by the president of India on 3rd December 2021. Mr Shams Aalam holds the world record in Longest Open Sea Swimming by a Paraplegic person. In addition, he was featured in the Limca Book of World Records and represented India in Asian Para Games Jakarta Indonesia 2018.

Varda Sardana

Ms Varda Sardana is an Assistant Professor in the Commerce Department at Shree Ram College of Commerce. A keen reader, speaker, social activist, and mentor, Varda Sardana has been delivering motivational sessions for the past five years. Varda has served in various leadership positions at Rotaract, the youth wing of Rotary International, and is the former head of Rotaract Delhi-NCR district. Her passion for humanitarian causes led her to mobilize the youth and initiate district-wide projects on various issues, such as hair donation for cancer patients, literacy for underprivileged kids, skill development for women, and extensive efforts for COVID-19 relief during the second wave of the pandemic.

Vidisha Baliyan

Miss Deaf World 2019
Blinding lights and muffled cheers, an international stage with contestants from all around the world, won the title Miss Deaf World in the year 2019. In the 19-year-old history of the event, she is the first ever Indian woman to win this title, and that’s beyond pride-worthy. Miss Deaf India 2019, Inspirational Global Women Awards, Rashtriya Divyang Puruskar - The National Disability Award 2019 received by the Honorary President of India are a few jewels in her decorated crown. She is among the very few who speak despite their deafness. What makes her shine bright is the battle against societal stigma, presuming her to be dumb, provided she is deaf. She is an inspiration and continues to thrive to make society better.
