IGNITE - in literal terms a spark or an awakening, on a more allegorical level, it could be interpreted as something one is passionate about or could symbolize the beginning of an idea- the one ingredient strong enough to change the world in its own unique way.

Like a candle, our wick of the soul is encased in our humanity, and when our soul is touched, we light up until all we know melts and changes shape for the burn of
our experience. Repeatedly, our sweat and struggle burn our sense of self and
world away, so that our Divine spark can be released, again and again. These
moments of soul-lighting-up not only rearrange our lives, but they light and
warm those who stay near.

One's light can ignite the spark of another, and that is what we look for in our speakers. A single ignite can start a movement. We are exploring ideas that will hopefully IGNITE passion, understanding, and reflection. This full-day event will feature speakers, performers, and of course "Ideas Worth Sharing."

With the third edition of TedxKc, we plan to bring acclaimed individuals from myriad backgrounds whose ground-breaking ideas have not only spurred innovations that have shaped a better world but have also helped ignite the same passion in hundreds around them. It is the very same passion that these speakers will put for us into words.

Kunal Vijayakar is a broadcaster, food writer, author, actor, and television personality. His role in Salaam Namaste and Ghajini, a screenwriter and director of the movie “Fruit and Nut” has shown us his versatility as an artist. Alongside working on his Times Now show “The Foodie” & his weekly comedy satire “The week that wasn't” won all of our hearts in the process. His passion for food has ignited a spark in others to follow their culinary dreams and much more.

Neha Sharma Iyer

Neha Sharma Iyer is an Indian film Actress, Radio Jockey, and Television Presenter, who has worked predominantly in the Malayalam movie industry. Some of her work includes popular movies like Ribbon and Tharangam. But life took a turn for her when she received the best news and the worst news of her life in the same week- she found out she was pregnant with her first child but unfortunately lost her husband to a cardiac arrest after five days of receiving the happy news. She didn’t succumb to the difficulties suddenly occurring in her path but showed what infinite impossibilities a woman can attain single-handedly. She is a grief survivor who has fought against all odds and is a proud single mother; we believe her story will genuinely inspire many.

Subhankar Dey

Badminton Player

Subhankar Dey is an Indian badminton player, currently holding the World Rank of 38. Champion of the renowned Sarlalouex Open and Runner-up Italian Open tournament are just some of his achievements. He trains in Vashi, Navi Mumbai at his badminton academy named the Subhankar Dey Badminton Academy. He also used to run another Badminton Centre in Sodepur, Kolkata, his hometown. He played for the Bengaluru blasters and Awadhe Warriors in the Premier Badminton League. For him, life means badminton. He has truly become an icon after toils of struggle since his early days beginning from his childhood to accomplishing his dreams whilst making the country proud. He is a great example of the quote “Champions aren’t made in the gyms they are made from something they have deep inside them, a desire and an unfathomed drive”.

The first Drag Artiste to appear on a singing reality show on Indian television. The first Indian to hold the title of Mr. Gay World India 2014. With his coming out story he has ignited the youth to proudly live their truth and experience their journey joyfully.
