Theme: The Fulcrum - Independent yet interdependent

In terms of the role of the fulcrum in the lever, this is the most pressured position, therefore if people pick the inappropriate and wobbly fulcrums, we will quickly lose the crucial pillars in life, put more strain on ourselves and push our tolerance to the maximum, causing the entire "leverage" of life to collapse. On the opposite, if the correct fulcrum is found and combined with effort, it will result in an effective and sustainable "lever."

TEDx HCMUSSH, with the subject "The Fulcrum" aims on debunking the misconception that a fulcrum is only a tool for achieving particular and short-term goals. However, in the age of personalization, the fulcrum should be considered as a component of the lever, allowing each individual to exist independently yet interdependently.

Ms. Thao Ngo, also known as Thao Kin, has more than ten years of expertise in the field of environmental education and sustainable living, beginning with environmental volunteering activities as a student. She is particularly interested in ecological education and environmental connection, and she believes strongly in the power of the community to effect positive change. She holds a Master's degree in Ecology in Sustainable Development from KU Leuven (Belgium), as well as advanced training in Deep Ecology, Eco-Community Design, and Facilitation skills. Ms. Thao Kin now coordinates the Asia Pacific regional network for the Global Eco-village Network and works as an independent consultant in Vietnam on environmental, ecological, and development initiatives.

Educator Gian Tu Trung is currently the Principal of PACE Business School; Director of the Institute of Education IRED; and Vice President of Cultural Fund Phan Chau Trinh. He received a Master's degree in Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute; Studying in International Education Policy at Harvard University; Graduated with a Doctorate in Education from the National Institute of Education Singapore; and holds a PhD in Education from University College London (UCL). For his dedication to education, the World Economic Forum (in Davos, Switzerland) honored him as a Global Leader as an Education Activist. In addition, he is also the initiator, co-founder of organizations, study promotion funds, initiatives focusing on liberal arts education and leadership.
