One of our favorite authors, thinkers, and philosophers of science, Nicholas Maxwell, will be sharing his concerns about two devastating crises that threaten our future: the climate crisis, and the "nature" crisis - destruction of natural habitats, catastrophic loss of wild life, and impending mass extinction of species. He wants institutions of higher ed to step up their game, and give absolute priority to the task of helping humanity.

If one believes there are existential threats to the planet's living systems, then a radical revolution in academia makes sense.

What are your beliefs? Where do you stand?
We will be gathering on November 6th on the Qiqochat platform to watch selected TEDCountdown talks presented in Edinburgh, Scotland this year.
In clarity of this space, what do these talks mean to us individually and collectively? What is the seed of action we can carry forward together?
