In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jesse Popp

Dr. Jesse Popp is a professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Environmental Science at the University of Guelph. A member of the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, Dr. Popp draws on Indigenous and western ways of knowing in her work as a wildlife ecologist.

Kween

Kween has worked with TEDxGuelph before as the host of the Black Excellence Panel in 2021. She is a business owner of The Kween Company,, a dedicated and passionate activist for the black community in Canada, and has been the director of Guelph Black Heritage Society.

Mike Fralick

Dr. Mike Fralink is general internist, clinician scientist and researcher from the University of Toronto, working both in the treatment of patients and medical research. He discusses his experiences treating patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and the research the struggle against the virus inspired.

Nika Farb

Nika Farb is an educator and the host of the the podcast ''The Miss Findependent Show''. She shares her own journey towards financial literacy and works to educate women about how understanding investment can contribute to their personal and financial independence. Her advice is clear and accessible, incredibly helpful to anyone searching to better understand and take advantage of their money.

Rachel Lebovic

Rachel is the founder of 25Alive, a platform for raising awareness on and destigmatizing mental health for young adults and raising awareness about gaps in the health care system that leave young people with little support. She is vocal about her own challenges with depression and suicide and shares her story in order to push for change and support others with similar stories.

Renata Mares

Renata is a professor and nurse consultant from McMaster University. She is passionate about valuating and improving the way the Canadian healthcare system functions and supports its workers, especially nurses, in the face of a healthcare crisis and pandemic. Her students are one of her key inspirations for sharing the struggles nurses face and working to improve the work environments of people in healthcare.

Tanya McCready

Tanya and her husband run Winterdance Dogsled Tours out of their home of Haliburton Ontario. As a speaker, Tanya shares how expeditions with man's best friend can be a source of inspiration, character building and life lessons.
