This is a whole scholl event following our annual event of hosting a student lead TEDx event. Due to covid we responded to the need of a virtual event. This will be open to the entire learning community. We have one outside speaker Angela Maxwell an adventurer and author supported by five other members of our community, three of which are senior students.

Daisy May

Student
Daisy May currently studies in grade 10 in St Gilgen International School. She is 15 years old. Daisy is multicultural; she has lived in five countries with Austria being the longest. She is interested in Drama, Chemistry and Politics. Daisy decided to take part in the TEDx talk this year because she wants to enlighten people about climate change which is a very important, global problem nowadays. Daisy chose this topic because she is willing to inspire others to take action against it and hopefully change their views on vegetarianism and veganism. Daisy said: “I hope that some people will think twice about ordering a Schnitzel and become wiser with their diet choices by knowing the consequences they have on our environment.”

Franziska Schildecker

Student at StGIS
Franzi was born in Austria and Is passionate about history, psychology and languages. Over time, she developed an interest in astrology, which she likes to share with others. After completing her IB Franzi wishes to continue inspiring others, however in the field of psychology.

Luisa Lensing

Student st StGIS
Luisa Lensing is a 17 years old Austrian, very passionate about photography. Her family is part of the fashion industry. This spiked her interest of the topic of fast fashion. Her goal is to spread shocking information about the fashion industry to the public.

Manfred Hückel

Former Red Bull CCO, Managing Partner st StGIS, University Lecturer, Speaker, Podcaster, Book author
Manfred has obtained two master's degrees (commerce and law) and attended educational courses focused on leadership and negotiation at Harvard and Stanford. His career started at Procter&Gamble Vienna. He then began his 23-year journey at Red Bull with roles such as Global Head of Marketing and Sales, CCO and board member. He has lectured at business schools such as WU, HSG and HHL for more than 20 years. Family and sport have always been a massive part of his life. Dr.Hückel is a formal National handball champion and recent Hawaii Triathlon finisher.

Samantha Packwood

Behaviour Change Facilitator and consultant
Born in London and brought up in Andalucía, Sam’s passion is to bring ideas to life through the power of story. For over two decades, Sam has been bridging the worlds of psychology and business by translating science and research into digestible learning bites that make them relatable/applicable to everyday life. Sam uses storytelling as a powerful vehicle to achieve this. She makes the intangible practically palpable and the complex graspable for broad audiences. Her energetic and empathic style brings projects to life for others. Sam tracks down relatable stories from many inspiring people, including athletes, film directors, and students, to bring about new perspectives that capture peoples’ attention and keep them engaged. Aside from running workshops on storytelling in business and media, Sam also supports the development of talent in young tech entrepreneurs by helping them showcase their ideas and potential.
