Theme: Understanding China

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Malcolm Clarke is a renowned British documentary director. He has been producing documentaries and feature films for more than 40 years and has filmed in more than 80 countries around the world. His works have won many international film festival awards, including 4 Academy Award nominations, 2 Academy Awards, 16 Emmy Awards, and 5 Outstanding Cable Television Awards. He is currently working on a number of documentaries and feature films about China.

Stephon Marbury

Professional basketball coach

Stephon Marbury is the Head Coach of the Beijing Royal Fighters CBA. He is a former American professional basketball player and point guard, nicknamed "Lone Wolf" during his NBA career. He is also the first foreign player in CBA history to be granted a Permanent Residence permit in China.
