In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Echeverria

12th grade student at the ABC
Andrea Echeverria is a senior at ABC, and she hopes to begin her political science degree next year. She enjoys helping others and learning from the outside world, which brought her to the source of where decisions are made and where significant and immediate change can be achieved. Politics is her passion, and she firmly believes that through it, we can change the world. She will explain to us how our political influence can impact the world, and why it's important to become involved in the push for change.

Angela Jayin

Biology teacher at the ABC
Angela Jayin has been teaching internationally since the beginning of her teaching career in 2010 and she is the current Head of Science at the ABC. She enjoys dancing, travelling and listening to podcasts. In this talk, she will explore the changes in consumption behaviours as a society and possibilities for the future.

Camila Cruz

Exabrit and current junior at Hult Intl. Business School
Camila is an exabrit and is currently a junior at Hult Intl. Business School. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in data analytics. In her talk, she touches on the emerging technologies that are paving the way for the next era of the internet that will revolutionise how we think and interact with the digital landscape. She seeks to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly on NFTs, blockchain technology and metaverse.

Gabriela Echeverria

11th grade student at the ABC
Gaby Echeverria is an 11th-grade student that likes to be curious and loves to learn about anything. She enjoys reading, painting and playing the piano. She is eager to study Biotechnology at college since she is captivated by the way bodies work, and would like to contribute to the development of emerging innovations in the biological world. That's why in her talk, she will be exploring the science behind the mystical feeling of love, thus allowing us to understand its historical significance and how it will continue to affect our lives for generations to come.

Hector Himede

12th grade student at the ABC
Hector Himede is currently a Senior at the ABC and hopes to begin his studies in public health in the pre-medical school track next fall. He thinks this is the perfect path for him as one of his greatest passions is to target global and local health problems through the means of scientific exploration. For this reason, his talk will focus on the scientific framework behind the reasons why we must abandon modern diet culture, an increasingly popular public health crisis.

Juan Santos

Epidemiologist
He is an Epidemiologist responsible for the surveillance and control actions of diseases with epidemic potential throughout the department of La Libertad. He is also in charge of advising all the doctors of the Ministry of Health who work in the 22 municipalities of the department while teaching them and making sure they understand all contagious and non-contagious diseases. The talk is about the disease commonly referred to as COVID-19, starting with the beginning of the current pandemic, characteristics of the virus and how this are related to the precaution guidelines that have been set. Finalising with the effects it has on teenagers and children, and how to manage both social distancing and daily routines that must be followed to assure good mental health.

Lourdes Mena

Business Administrator
Lula Mena is a Salvadoran designer who produces eco-friendly products, made by hand, under fair trade regulations with communities of women and artisans. Her focus is the empowerment of Salvadoran women. Her designs have been exported to the USA, Japan, Australia, Canada and Switzerland.

Marcos Narvaez

10th grade student at the ABC
Marcos Narvaez is a 10th-grade student at the ABC, who recently developed a passion for math and science. But his favourite subjects to explore are mechanisms (anything from watches to rockets) and space exploration. He considers himself a curious learner and an enthusiastic person who is in constant search of a deeper understanding of the world. He will be explaining to us the advancing methods of production of energy and what this will mean for us in the future.

Mia Davila

12th grade student at the ABC
Mia Davila is a senior at the ABC and hopes to start her psychology studies next year in university. She loves reading, mostly anything psychology related. Her biggest obsession at the moment is journaling as she firmly believes what Mahatma Gandhi once said to be true: "If you want to change the world, start with yourself". In her talk, she will express favouritism of journaling. Journaling has helped her on her self-discovery and self-compassion journey. She also. believes that keeping a journal is a great way to change thinking patterns that might not benefit us especially in a world where the ideal is to coexist in peace and compassion.

Pablo Ventura

11th grade student at the ABC
Pablo is a junior at the ABC. He is incredibly passionate about social justice, journalism and political activism. In his free time, he enjoys baking, wildlife photography and running. He will be talking about how we can bring empathy into discussions and solutions for durable political, social and environmental problems.
