In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxYouth@LakeOlmstead aims to unite the Augusta community by providing a platform that encourages people to connect and grow. Through an open-minded exchange of new ideas stemming from the youth of our community, we will come to understand how we each have had to adapt within and across generations and how those challenges bring us together.

Aarushi Dua

Aarushi Dua is a freshman at Lakeside High School. Both of Aarushi’s parents are physicians, thus providing her with a wide range of knowledge regarding professional diversity. Currently, she is working towards a black belt in martial arts, on the Lakeside Tennis team, plays five instruments, and has taken marketing and financing classes.

Alexis Allen

Alexis is a Junior at Wheeler High School and a participant in the Center for Advanced Studies in Science, Math, and Technology magnet program.

Amber Aubas

Amber Aubas is a Senior at Greenbrier High School. She is a daughter of a Retired Military Lieutenant Colonel.

Arjan Kohli

Arjan Kohli is a senior at Peachtree Ridge High School in Duluth who aspires to pursue a career in quantitative neuroradiology.

David Owen

David P. Owen, Jr., teaches and writes in a variety of fields in Augusta, Georgia. He is a liminal scholar whose research interests include literature, popular music, cultural curriculum studies, film and television studies, Southern studies, complexity theory, aesthetics, technology, and philosophy.

Diya Garrepally

Diya is a sophomore attending Wheeler High School’s Center for Advanced Studies in Science, Math, and Technology.

John Cato

John Cato holds a doctorate in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University. He has been an educator since 1997, teaching mathematics and physics. His research interests include expertise, acquisition of knowledge, systems of logic, and identity.

Lauren Coughlin

Lauren Coughlin is a Senior at Lakeside High School, and she is part of the International Baccalaureate Program. In school, she participates in both Marching Band and Track & Field.

Ryan Yin

Ryan is currently a junior at Lakeside High school, and has been fascinated by the subject of human experience throughout his childhood.

Tejas Srinivasan

Tejas is an IB junior at Lakeside High School in Evans. He is currently an officer at both the Science National Honor Society and the Technology Student Association at Lakeside.
