TED COUNTDOWN is a global initiative to promote climate conversation. Low Carbon Leaders is hosting a UK event immediately after COP26.

Join us in Brighton for a series of talks exploring our theme of nature's role in restoring our climate.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards global reforestation projects in the developing world.

This is an in-person event with limited tickets.

Alan Watkins

Alan's background in medicine and neuroscience paved the way to becoming recognised as an international expert on leadership and human performance. He has coached the GB Olympic team as well as Global CEO's and now devotes his work to helping leaders solve the most complex challenges through making wiser decisions to deliver a purposeful society.

Alice Wyatt

12-year-old Youth Climate Activist, Alice Wyatt from Brighton, was first inspired by the actions of Greta Thunberg back in 2018. Alice is now an active part of the Fridays for Future movement and constantly strives to make as big an impact as she can through her actions.

Atlanta Cook

Eco-activist
Atlanta started her marine conservation adventure in 1991 helping to organise Surfers Against Sewage's first Brighton photoshoot and fundraiser. Now an Honorary Life Member, she successfully campaigned for the building of Baggy Point Water Treatment Works at Croyde Bay. She is an internationally recognised eco-activist having co-ordinated the Seas at Risk Federation.

Jon Barnes

Adaptive Organisations Consultant & Lecturer
Jon creates organisations that are more engaging, more democratic and where people continuously learn by following their own natural curriculum. His associated research has covered the intersection of democracy & technology, as well as child-led education. He is a guest lecturer on HEC Paris’ Exec MBA programme and lives in the UK’s South Downs with his wife and son, who is unschooled.

Laura Gelder-Robertson

Climate Activist + Founder Glow Innovation
Laura Gelder-Robertson is a graduate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) who uses her background in innovation to facilitate radical collaboration between different stakeholders in the drive to reverse climate change. Her blend of empathy and energy to tackle the climate crisis has seen her recognised as a powerful catalyst for change - which she recently demonstrated at COP26 running workshops and installations to inspire ambitious collective action among small businesses

Marcus Hemsley

Founder The Million Tree Pledge
Marcus is the founder of Fountain Partnership and The Million Tree Pledge - a collective action, business network that commits to large scale global reforestation. He is recognised as a thought-leader in his sector and sits on the British Interactive Media Association sustainability board and spoke at Cannes Lions 2021 on the urgent need for climate action.

Oge Ejizu

London Regional Leader, Black Girls Hike UK
Oge is passionate about inclusion and diversity, meaningful representation, social justice, and women’s advocacy. As Regional Leader of Black Girls Hike, she coordinates a hiking group that empowers Black Women to explore the outdoors. Oge holds a Masters in Violence, Conflict and Development from the University of SOAS and is currently working towards becoming a qualified Mountain Leader.

Phoebe Hanson

Climate and Social Activist & Operations Director, Force of Nature
Phoebe plays a leading role in mobilising mindsets for climate action at youth non-profit, Force of Nature. As a young working-class woman, Phoebe’s mission has always been in youth empowerment and ensuring the right people are centred in climate decisions. Working alongside The World’s leading authorities on sustainability, she sees power in understanding your sphere of influence and building communities of change-makers.

Rapper and Spoke Word Artist
Woodzy is an award-winning poet featured on the Brit Award-winning Sky Arts TV show, Life & Rhymes, hosted by Benjamin Zephaniah. After graduating from The Brit School, he has opened for Stormzy and most recently performed at Wembley Arena with Sky Sports Boxing.
