This year's theme is Reinventing the Wheel. Have you ever taken a step back to look at what you have been doing for ages systematically the very same way until you noticed there are so many better ways to handle it, or even so many more interesting things to do? It is now your time to share about it!

Kevin O'Garro

Dutch Information Technology Consultant
Kevin is an IT consultant from the Netherlands. Usually, a job title like this is automatically linked to a lot of travel. In his talk, Kevin will share how his perspective on necessary travel changed. He will discuss how he reinvented his way of commuting to work, from driving his car every day to riding his bike as the only mode of transportation. He will discuss the impact that his decision had on his life, health, and the environmental advantages derived from it.

Richard McGeown

British chef
Richard McGeown is a British chef and restaurateur who cooked the very first in vitro meat product in history back in 2013. His talk will be focused on the scientific & economic progress of lab-grown meat since 2013. He will discuss how the human impact on the planet needs us to consider how our food may be alternatively produced in the future, and whether this is socially accepted and economically viable, as demand for meat grows with an expanding population.

Sofie van der Meulen

Dutch health and data law expert
Sofie is a Dutch health and data law expert. She is also chair of the board of foodwatch Netherlands and diversity & inclusion advocate. In her talk, she shares her perspective on diversity and inclusion based on her own observations and experience. Sofie particularly discusses diversity and inclusion in the workplace and promotes a life-enriching human-friendly approach everyone can start with today.

Somaye Dehban

Dedicated fundraising professional
Ms. Dehban is a Dutchified Iranian who has a dream – call it a vision if you will – to live in a world with true personal freedom of choice, equality of opportunity, and the ability for people to thrive. This is balanced with a personal responsibility to contribute to the collective good. Somaye has developed a synergistic personal and organizational transformation model which she has dubbed “Verbinding”. Verbinding is the Dutch term for “inter-connectedness”, with an emotional hint towards “inter-relatedness” and “inter-dependencies”. In her talk, she will walk us through her personal journey of developing “Verbinding”, and how “Reinventing” herself and her “identity” has been inspired by the “over-shadowed” definition of “innovative” and that is: putting “existing” ideas together in different ways.
