TEDx is about sharing ideas and touching lives. Medical students are a great medium to propagate these for they have sworn to serve the society. This would help them to understand the needs of people on different levels and touch their lives with a fresh outlook. This event will equip them to think outside the box, urge them to innovate, appeal to them to explore possibilities and boost them into finding solutions. Apart from novelties from medical science, the amalgamation of use of technology, socialisation, conversation of our environment and doing things in a sustainable yet feasible way would prove instrumental to create a power that serves the community to flourish to its fullest and have a holistic approach towards the upliftment of its people.

The journey from Chicken Besara to Chenapoda of a 27 year old Senior Systems Engineer from Berhampur,Odisha, to become the winner of MasterChef India season 6, got every Odia hooked to their TV sets on weekends in the early part of the year 2020. Apart from winning the coveted title of the MasterChef, he has also won the Masterchef Lokicooks Fellowship 2019, Meri Paushtik Rasoi 2019 and Hungry For Haldiram 2018 to name a few.

A professional psychiatrist par excellence,his knowledge, dedication, devotion to his profession stands unparalleled today. He has also delivered a TEDx talk at TEDxXUB.

Dr. Ruchi Gupta

M.S. MCh. Plastic Surgeon

An eminent plastic surgeon, Dr Ruchi Gupta, conducted the first male to female sex reassignment surgery in Odisha and has been successful in conducting several such surgeries over the years. An alumnus of IMS BHU and mother of two, she is all for a strong patient-doctor relationship.

Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo

Scientist

Dr. Sahoo obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in chemistry from the University of Delhi, Delhi, India. Presently, Dr. Sahoo is a scientist at the Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, India. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the research related to nanotechnology-based drug delivery to cancer. Dr. Sahoo has authored more than 80 manuscripts, 5 patents and edited one book “Nanotechnology in Health Care”

Kunaal Vermaa

Mr. Kunaal Vermaa A Photocopier-turned-lyricist, Kunaal Verma is known for his work in Bollywood. With a credit of over 500 songs, Mr. Verma is well versed in ghazals as well and has a strong command over Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu languages. The title track of Malang, “Chale Aana” from De De Pyar De, “Hasi” from Hamari Adhuri Kahani, "Tum Hi Aana" from Marjaavaan, "Tu Laung Main Elaichi" from Luka Chuppi, "Pal" from Jalebi are among his most famous pieces.

A graduate of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy. His civil qualifications include M.Sc. (Military Science), M.A. (Defence Studies), M. Phil. (Military Science), M. Phil. (Defence Studies) and MBA(Human Resource Management). Brigadier Manish Bhave has been serving the nation for more than 30 years and counting. Most notably in Counter Insurgency Operations in Jammu Kashmir and the North East, he has also made his presence felt nationwide in various position and appointments of both field and peace stations.

Shri Nikhil Pavan Kalyan

Shri N. P. Kalyan sir is currently serving as District Collector and Magistrate of Sundargarh District since 2019. He completed his B.Tech from Malaviya National Institute of Technology started his career by working in corporate sector. Finally, leaving Adobe India in 2012 after cracking the coveted UPSC exam to join the IAS cadre. He has handled various roles in Government of Odisha, from Sub collector at two districts, Project Director at Keonjhar, Urban administration at Berhampur, Ganjam. His laurels also include successfully handling Dhenkanal district as Collector and DM. He is currently handling the district of Sundargarh.
