In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Barr. Aysha Ahmad Muhammad

Ahmad Aysha is a unique and beautiful legal practitioner, a Philanthropist and Ambassador for girl-child rising. Born in the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna State. She is currently the Board Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service and the Deputy National President of the Nigerian Youth Congress. She attended Therbow school, Zaria and the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where she bagged her LLB and was successfully called to the Nigerian Bar with flying colours, she holds a masters degree in law from Salford University, United Kingdom. She is a Notary Public and a Chartered Arbitrator. She is the Principal Partner of Essence Chambers and the best full hausa fulani female in active legal practice in Zaria. She is the founder of Sarauniya Girl Child Care Foundation, a foundation that caters for the less privileged across the rural and urban part of Nigeria, empowering the less privileged through innovative programs and addressing the root causes of poverty. She has positively touched the lives of so many people in communities across the Northern part of Nigeria in ensuring the preservation of lives, improvements in the standard of living of the underprivileged and more particularly Girl Child. She has attended so many seminars and conferences as a resources person, participant etc... She is a multiple award winner and has been recognized both internationally and here at home. Her passion for selfless humanitarian services have gained her fame in the eyes of so many youths and thus she has become a role model to so many people and was crowned as Zinariyar Daliban Lardin Zazzau She has been nicknamed and tagged as Icon of Justice & Humanitarian Services.

Dr. Aliyu Waziri

Dr Aliyu Waziri a Consultant Haematologist and senior lecturer was born on the 7th of October 40 years ago in the city of Lagos. He attended 7th Avenue Primary School Festac town Lagos, Festac College Festac Town and Government Unity College Malumfashi, Katsina State. He gained admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2000 and graduated in 2007. After graduation, he did his internship in General Hospital Katsina and proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife Osun State for NYSC (2009-2010). He commenced his postgraduate training in the field of Haematology in 2010 and became a fellow of the National Postgraduate College in 2016. As a medical educator since 2013, he has trained more than a 1000 medical doctors in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. And as a researcher and lecturer, he has attended numerous international and local conferences with more than 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently the Principal Investigator for Global Blood Therapeutics (clinical trial) in ABU/ABUTH, member, Governing Board institute of Administration ABU, Senate Member ABU Zaria, welfare secretary Medical and Dental Consultants of Nigeria (MDCAN), Founder of The Waziri Foundation, Medical Advisor Safiyya Sickle Cell Foundation and Patron sickle cell warriors support group. He was one time Site coordinator and facilitator for University of Washington online programs ABUTH site, President, Secretary and Assistant Secretary of Association of Residents Doctors ABUTH, Financial Secretary of ABUMSA, National Secretary of National Association of Katsina sate Medical Students and President Association of Katsina Students ABU Zaria. He served in various capacities in numerous associations and committees. As a Haematologist and lecturer, he is a member of International Society for Haematology (ISH), Nigeria Bone Marrow Transplantation Society (NBMTS), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) among others. This senior lecturer and consultant Haematologist is a recipient of numerous awards including the Prestigious Durosinmi’s prize for best part 1 candidate of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2013. He is happily married with 4 children.

Dr. Saied Tafida

Saied Tafida has over 15 years of experience researching new ways to redefine policy formulation around open and participatory governance and strengthening democratic institutions. He co-founded several NGOs and CBOs, including Transparency in Totality- FollowTaxes that, among other things, mobilizes citizens and local government toward effective open governance. FollowTaxes is among the OGP pioneer leaders network. Saied’s contributions are on strengthening civil societies towards transparency and accountability for effective results.

Haj Furera Isma Jumare

Furera Isma Jumare is the Director General of the Jigawa State Investment Promotion Agency. She holds a B.Sc., three Master’s degrees, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Certificate in Training Practice. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Women in Business, Management and the Public Sector, and a Fellow of Institute of Management Consultants. Furera worked in CBN for 21 years before founding her consulting firm, MicroDevelopment Consulting Limited in 2009. She has also at various times a member of the Kaduna State Council on Agriculture and a member of the Leadership Newspaper Editorial Board. Furera was on the Board of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. until her appointment as Director-General of InvestJigawa in September 2020. She has five lovely children and four adorable grandchildren.

Hauwa Usman Garba

Hauwa Usman is a senior M & E Associate with KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation Nigeria. Her background and experience as a Public health professional and an aid worker has informed her mindful, strategic, human-centred contribution towards TB prevention and control and overall health system strengthening. She is fueled by her passion for understanding and improving the Healthcare service delivery at the grassroots level. Her hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action in the field has contributed to her most recent success being awarded the extra mile award for excellent service delivery in the support of the implementation of USAID Funded-TB LON Project by KNCV TB Foundation. Doubling as a freelance writer, Hauwa believes in the power of words for effective communication and shaping perspectives. She considers herself a ‘forever student’, eager to both build on her academic foundations in health and Information science whilst staying in touch with her creative side through writing. As an advocate of mindful living - she lives out her tenet through interests in reading, meditating, journaling and cooking.

Nasirudeen B. Yakubu

Mr Nasirudeen is a Nigerian Technopreneur; a Digital transformation and innovation master; a Cyber security strategist; a Computer hacking and forensic investigator; a Member of the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria; and EC-Council member. He is a Managing Partner of 3logy Limited; he has graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria and underwent training on Digital Transformation at the University of Virginia USA. Currently, he is a trainee as an MIT - REAP instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Mr Nasirudeen is a serial entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in mentoring younger kids within the age range of 6 - 17 years. Rebecca Maulome Padonu

A budding Writer, Content Creator, and Educator. A first-class graduate of Theatre and Performing Arts from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, where she lectures with a research interest in Creative Writing and Theatre for Young Audiences - TYA). Her works, which are largely factional stories, straddle the genres of a dramatic script, TV/Radio Drama and Documentaries. Rebecca has completed several freelance writing projects, including BBC Media Action’s Drama Series, Story Story (series 32 & 33). She is a Kashim Ibrahim Fellow 2018/2019 Cohort (a leadership training programme by the Kaduna State Government). She owns a YouTube channel called Becca Diaries where she talks about Personal Development and Productivity. She got appointed by the Kaduna State Governor in 2019 as a Special Assistant on Social Investment Programmes. So far, she has contributed to the Social Protection system in Kaduna State. Ultimately, she desires to promote development in children and young people, within her community, Nigeria and consequentially, the world.
