TEDxYouth@MinnetonkaHS is an independently organized TED event at Minnetonka High School that brings speakers from around the Twin Cities area to share their ideas and stories. The theme of this year's event is "rewriting the narrative." This essentially means we are advocating for others to break traditional societal standards and pursue their passions, no matter how bold.

Amin Rahmatullah

Cardiologist
Amin Rahmatullah is a cardiologist practicing at Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute/ Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, MN. He grew up in Pakistan and has been a physician in Minnesota now for 30 years. Besides a busy clinical and administrative role in his practice, Dr. Rahmatullah's interests include advocacy and volunteerism. He lives with his wife, Zeeraq and three children.

Ariana Feygin

Content Creator and Student
Ariana is a 16-year-old chef, philanthropist, food content creator, and Minnesota's first and only contestant on MasterChef Junior with Gordon Ramsay. Touching people's lives is what brings Ariana the most joy, whether this is through philanthropy work, posting content on social media for her 2 million followers, presenting onstage, or by sharing a story at a private dinner.

David Surver

Teacher
David Surver is a board certified math teacher at Minnetonka High School. He was chosen as the Minnetonka teacher of the year, won a Disney award, and was Minnetonka's choice for Minnesota's teacher of the year. He has an entrepreneurial side, having started two successful businesses, 1 in insurance and 1 in education. He is passionate about showing people math in action in the real world.

Rebecca Ward

Coach, Therapist, and Consultant
Rebecca Ward brings nearly 30 years of experience in trauma healing and recovery to her work as a coach, therapist, and consultant. She empowers the people she supports to reconnect back to the truest version of themselves. She is a fierce advocate for human rights and climate change and is actively working to heal suffering on a global scale.

Tracy Beckman

Former MN State Senator
Tracy retired early to become a full time caregiver for his wife, Janel, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In the middle of his caregiving journey, his family took over his duties, giving him the time for a 60 day, 1600 mile solo bike trip to Maine that gave him a new perspective on life. Tracy has been instrumental in leading several Alzheimer’s caregivers support groups.

Vijay Dixit

CEO
Vijay Dixit left his professional career to champion teen driver safety after a distracted driver killed his 19-year-old daughter Shreya on November 1, 2007. He established Shreya R. Dixit Memorial Foundation, a non-profit to educate and inspire young drivers to drive distraction-free. Vijay authored his book, ‘One Split Second’, for which U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar wrote the foreword.
