5 cups of excitement, 4 cups of ideas, and 3 tablespoons of joy. Are you ready to experience our melting pot of perspectives?

Come and sample some of the delectable ideas and stories from speakers in various food-related fields.

The event will be held on the 21st of September at the Hackett Cafe.
Registration begins at 5:30 PM, starting the event at 6:00 PM and with proceeds ending at around 9:00 PM.

Light refreshments will be provided during the intermission.

Tickets are $15 for members, and $20 for non-members.

Giselle Sim

Co-founder of Croff Bakehouse
Giselle is an ex-accountant who is a self-taught baker with a strong passion in croissants and Asian-fusion flavours. She works to combine her Asian heritage in creating unique flavours and building the Croff Bakehouse brand, one of Perth's most innovative Croissanteries.

Jiann Woei Yeo

Chef
Born in Malaysia, Jiann moved to Perth in 2016 to study psychology and behavioural sciences. After a year, he dropped out pursued an apprenticeship in commercial cookery. Through his apprenticeship, Jiann discovered his passion of working in the kitchen. During this time, he was awarded the Seafood Apprentice of the Year, which gave him a deeper appreciation of the sustainability of seafood and using under-utilised species. Jiann has worked in places such as Uma Restaurant, Cooee and Balthazar, and now uses his interest in science to discover new things about food and cooking methods. He hopes to share this interest with the people he trains or works with.

Kadambot Siddique

Professor of Agriculture
Professor Dr Kadambot Siddique, is the Hackett Professor of Agriculture Chair and Director of The UWA Institute of Agriculture. With more than 30 years of experience in agricultural research, Dr Siddique has developed a national and international reputation in agricultural science. As a result of Professor Siddique’s personal research and with others with whom he collaborates, Australia has become one of the major grain legume (pulse) exporting nations in the world. His pioneering research on chickpea has contributed enormously to the Australian chickpea industry, which is currently valued at more than $600 million per annum.

Yuki Nakamura

Chocolatier
Not only is Yuki Nakamura the executive Director of Nakamura Chocolates, with operations in Australia and across Japan; she is a practising artisan chocolatier, hand-making award-winning chocolates. She believes in the power of chocolates to bring joy. Yuki explores our relationship with food and offers another way to eat, a way that fits with our modern lifestyle. She calls it ‘the ceremony of food’.
